So it's pretty safe to say the cat's out of the bag here, and that she really is Madhu after all. This is a relief for me, since "Madhu" is much shorter than "Shivangi."
Madhu makes a very inspired and touching speech to Vish about how wonderful Suraj is and how he gave her everything she had ever wanted in life, while all Vish ever did was deprive her of things such as friends and affection. She explains that one can tell how forgiving and kind Suraj is by the fact that he even has sympathy for Vish after all the unpleasantness they've suffered at his hand. She says that she'll come to him in order to spare all the finger pointing and doubting that Suraj would be subjected to after the scandal was made public.
I'm not doing the speech justice here, as it is in all seriousness very moving. By the time she is done, even Vish is shedding a few tears as she pours out her heart. I thought he might call the whole thing off at this point, since he is obviously touched by her sentiments. However this is not the case, and he still expects her to do as he says. They arrange a meeting time at the airport for him to take her away.
When
she hangs up the phone, Suraj comes into the room to find her crying on the bed.
He makes an impassioned speech to her about sharing everything with him, both
good and bad. He asks if she trusts him, and she finally confesses to the whole
thing in order to prove that she does in fact trust him.
We finally get to see why she was married to Vishwanath in the first place. She begins to explain that her father stood to lose face before Vish since he lost a huge amount of money for his company in a single day. Vish threatened to auction off everything her father owned to repay the debt. However, he said that if Madhu agreed to marry him, he would spare her father. Her dad refused, but she consented to preserve his honor. As we all know now, Vish is very very possessive of her. After all of his atrocities, she finally had an event happen that could offer her some relief.
Flashback
to Vish and Madhu driving along a highway in their Jeep. Behind them another
Jeep full of drunken men is speeding along while they all hang out of the top
and sides of it waving around their whiskey bottles and yelling. They eventually
overtake Madhu's Jeep and continue their revelry ahead of them. Vish hits the
gas and closes the distance. They continue to swerve back and forth at high
speeds while the drunken guys hoot and holler. Madhu is very frightened and
wants Vish to knock it off, but it goes on for some time.
Finally on one of the swings past the drunken fools, Vish hits the other Jeep and sends it flying off the road. Unfortunately, he also loses control of his own Jeep and they go sailing into a pond. We can see Madhu is thrown from the Jeep before it contacts the water.
The door of her father's house crashes open and a very damp and sobbing Madhu falls to the floor in the entryway. When her father comes over and asks what happened, she tells him that Vish has drowned. He father tells her that he doubts it, since "a devil doesn't die so easily." (I thought that was kind of a cool sentiment.) She swears she's telling the truth, and says that they searched everywhere and couldn't find him.
Her father tells her that this is an opportunity for her to start over. After a rather lengthy dissertation, he gets to the point of suggesting that she change her name, and move to Bombay to live with her uncle and cousin. Even if Vish turns out to be alive, she'll be safe and free from him.
The flashback ends, and she says that she'd wanted to tell him on several occasions, but a combination of her oath to her father for secrecy and the fear of losing Suraj prevented her from doing so. Suraj reveals that he overheard their conversation on the phone, and that he still loves her very much. They hug, and the scene ends.
The
next shot is at the airport, where Suraj is dropping Madhu off. He hands her a
revolver and tells her to do what he's instructed. I'm amazed at airport
security here. She goes into the airport and begins looking around for Vish.
After a short search, he notices her wandering around and calls to her after
having his own little flashback montage of a lot of the scenes we've already
been shown a couple of times.
She sees where he's sitting with his newspaper, and moves to him. She wastes no time, and opens up her purse to take out the gun. She draws a bead on him as he looks slightly annoyed. In typical Vish style, he begins to correct her aim and how she's holding the gun. After all, if she's going to kill him, she might as well do it properly.
As
he's doing the instruction, he's walking towards her. He gets within grabbing
range of the pistol and snatches it away from her. He repeatedly asks her if she
wants to kill him, and shoots at her feet. He casts an odd glance at the pistol
after the first shot, then he points it right at her and fires again as Suraj
comes running down the aisle. At this point, no security has been summoned. Two
shots fired, and nothing!
Madhu jerks violently as the gun goes off, and has a startled look on her face. He fires at her again, and she falls to the floor.
