Vish
gets the giggles as he sees her lying on the ground. Suraj makes it over to
where the incident happened, and gasps as he sees Madhu on the ground. He
immediately grabs Vish and starts whaling on him.
By this time, a large crowd of people have gathered to see what's going on. No security, just people. The fight goes on for a while with Vish not putting up much resistance. He gloats that she is now neither his nor Suraj's, and looks rather proud of himself. He also starts correcting Suraj on where to hit him if he wants to kill him (chest and abdomen, not the face).
Finally the cops show up, and there are about 30 of them. Perhaps they waited until everyone was ready to roll out. They take Vish away and leave Suraj standing there. I'd have thought they'd take them both in since they were fighting in a public place, but they don't.
We see the pistol that Madhu had being placed on a desk with the unspent cartridges. It's the desk of Uncle Policeman, and Suraj is thanking him for the plan. You see, they used fake bullets. Madhu is fine, and Vish thinks he really killed her.
This is the spot where the plot kind of falls apart in my opinion. Vish is a trained soldier that has shot people before. I'd think he would have noticed that she didn't sustain any damage when he shot her, and she wasn't bleeding when she was lying on the ground.
Uncle
Policeman wants to take one final step to test if he really bought the ruse or
not. He wants Madhu to see Vish again, and if he believes that she is not Madhu
then the problem has been taken care of. Oooookay. He drops her off at the
courthouse where Vish is being led away by police escort (to prison, I assume).
Madhu passes him on the steps and bumps his shoulder. He stares at her for a
bit, then apologizes to her, calling her "Ma'am." Madhu is reunited with Suraj
at the top of the stairs, and he tells her that it's all over and she's safe
now. Looks like he's fallen for it!
Or has he? As he's coming down the steps, he starts a casual conversation with the cops he's with. He explains that he was in the army, and knows the difference between a fake bullet and a live round. That might explain the odd look he gave the gun when he fired the first shot at the ground. He distracts the cops and grabs one of their guns from its holster. He keeps them at bay as he walks up the steps to where Madhu and Suraj are hugging.
Turns out I was right that he was onto it the whole time. He's so crafty!
He tells them they've played a childish game with him. He makes a speech about how he's not done well in life, and that most of it wasn't his fault. He then debates to himself about which one to shoot. If he kills Madhu, then Suraj can't live without her. If he kills Suraj, then Madhu can't live without him. But, Vish can't live without Madhu, and "she's dead," according to him.
With a smile Vishwanath shoots himself in the head. Suraj runs up and holds him as he fades away while Shivangi/Madhu recoils in shock and horror at what she's seen. The camera centers on the three of them as they quietly wait for the police to come up and begin securing the scene. With that, the credits roll.
