It looks from the song that Shivangi has warmed up to Suraj considerably. They cavort around and generally have a good time. Once the song is over, they check into their hotel for the honeymoon. As Suraj is dealing the business end of things at the counter, Shivangi is heading to the elevators with a bunch of shopping bags and boxes. She runs into someone coming the opposite direction and drops most of her stuff.
Bet you thought you knew what the movie was about, didn't you! Well here at the 46 minute mark, we make a sharp turn and start on the real plot of the movie.
The
man she runs into gives her a long stare. He looks like he's amazed to see her,
but she returns his gaze with reluctance. He helps her gather her dropped
belongings, staring hard at her the whole time. She barely makes eye contact
with him, and leaves her sunglasses on. Eventually Suraj comes back and they go
upstairs, with the stranger staring at them all the while.
This kicks off a series of events where we see Suraj and Shivangi enjoying themselves, followed by the stranger showing up wherever they are. Shivangi gets uncomfortable, then they leave.
Finally the stranger goes to the front desk and asks who is in the room they're staying in. He gives his reason as they looked like people he used to know from school. I'm a little surprised that they gave him the information, but let's move on. So, now he's got their names.
Up in the newlyweds' room, Suraj notices that Shivangi looks worried. She complains that all the staring and chasing around by the stranger have made her very nervous and uncomfortable. Suraj tries to comfort her by explaining that it's a small resort, so it's common to see the same people all over the place. She doesn't buy it and continues to worry. Suraj assures her that he will protect her.
They
head down to the buffet for dinner. The stranger makes his move, and goes over
to talk to Shivangi. He asks her if she recognizes him, and she claims she
doesn't. Suraj comes over and asks what's going on. During this exchange, the
stranger introduces himself as Vishwanath, and continually refers to Shivangi as
Madhu. He is shocked when she claims to not know who he is, and gets mildly
agitated. He claims that she is Madhu, his wife. Suraj tells him that she is in
fact Shivangi, his wife. Vishwanath isn't hearing any of it - he's sure
who she is and tries to take her away. At this point Suraj calls the manager
over and asks that security come and handle Vishwanath.
While the security team gathers, Vishwanath says that he has proof that she is his wife, but Suraj isn't interested in seeing any of it. The security team convinces him to leave, but he casts one of those, "We will meet again!" looks at them before he walks out.
Later that night, the newlyweds are asleep in their room. The phone rings, and Suraj wakes up to answer it. It's Vishwanath, and he's calling to clear things up. He tells Suraj that he can't understand how his wife could marry a second time without getting divorced first. He tells Suraj that he wants to show him the evidence he mentioned earlier and prove he isn't lying. Suraj agrees to come down.
When he arrives, Vishwanath shows him a video of his wedding. The woman in the video does look exactly like Shivangi. Suraj claims that it was all a trick, and accuses Vishwanath of trying to blackmail him since he's a big businessman. Vishwanath explains that his wife has been missing for two years, and he was searching for her. He offers a deal to Suraj for the return of his wife, but Suraj is beyond listening to any of this. Vishwanath asks him to ask Shivangi why she hasn't mentioned much about her past. He also adds that he won't rest until she has been returned to him. They both threaten each other that they can do anything for her, up to and including killing the other. At this point Suraj takes his leave.
When he gets back to his room, Shivangi is awake and waiting for him. She asks where he's been, and that he not leave her alone again. He explains that he went to meet with Vishwanath to put all this to rest, and that he was shown the wedding video. When Suraj asks if Shivangi has a twin sister, she says no, then tells him she's very scared and it shuts him up. He says that they will leave and go someplace else to finish their vacation.
The next morning, Vishwanath calls the front desk to ask why no one answers the phone in the room the newlyweds were in. The answer seems clear to me, but the ever helpful clerk tells him that they checked out and went to Goa. I can't believe they would tell him that, but there you go.
At the new hotel, there's a huge party going on in a ballroom where Shivangi and Suraj make their entrance. The MC announces that it is Shivangi's birthday, and asks that she cut the cake. Everyone in the room starts handing her flowers as the cake is wheeled in. Notice the spelling!
