She's all smiles as they cut the cake and feed it to each other while the other partygoers toss confetti around and enjoy themselves. The MC comes over to them and offers them a microphone. Shivangi waves it off but Suraj takes the hint and goes over to a nearby piano. We head into our fourth and final song, "Dekha Tujhe Main Jabse."

This is a quiet, waltzy kind of song. Scenes of them enjoying each other's company and dancing around follow.
Once they're done dancing, they head off to their suite. However, when the open the door and head inside they see a giant basket of flowers has been delivered. On it rests a sign that reads, "Happy Birthday to Madhu." Shivangi and Suraj look bewildered at how Vishwanath knew where they were.
Vishwanath is having his own private birthday party for Madhu in his room. He's got his own cake and blows out a candle, then turns on a video. This is actually just a transition into his memories of when he was married.
Here are the scenes that effectively made me hate this character. Just thought I'd toss in a heads-up in case I got a bit more venomous than usual.
Madhu
is sitting at a mirror getting very dressed up. She's wearing lots of jewelry
and makeup, and has a very elaborate dress on. She remarks to Vishwanath that
she's been cooped up in her room all day, and that all the ornaments that he's
got her wearing are a burden. Her mention of a burden reminds him of a time in a
war where he was a captain of a squad that was ambushed. One of his men was
killed, and they had to put him back together again for a proper burial. They
decorated his coffin with leaves and then buried him. That particular act of
decoration was a burden. Putting lots of jewelry on his wife is enjoyable.
Maybe it's just me, but comparing the reassembling of a mutilated corpse and burial rites to dressing up your wife is pretty damn sick.
He takes her downstairs to see the house bas been done up lavishly for her birthday party. She looks very happy to see all the festoonery. They begin to dance in the living room, and everything looks to be all smiles. As they're waltzing around, she asks him if he invited any of his friends to come to the party. He gets a weird smile on his face, then slaps her. He chuckles, then asks why he isn't enough. He asks her why she wants friends when she has him?
He
begins shoving her around the room, showing her all the nice things he did to
get ready for the party. The hand-picked and arranged flowers, the streamers and
balloons, and the cake he made himself all for her. He tells her that it's not
fair that after he did all that work that she should also want friends to come
over.
He picks up the giant cake and throws it on the floor, then shoves her onto the sofa in disgust. He continues around the room, flipping over the table that had been set up for dinner and shaking his head in disbelief. All the while, he's smiling and quietly laughing to himself about how incredible her question was. He calmly tosses some vases over and continues smiling.
Madhu watches all this from the couch, and starts crying. The doorbell rings, and Vishwanath goes to see who it is. Madhu's father is waiting at the door when Vishwanath opens it. Dad smiles politely while Vish (I'm shortening it, that's a long name) asks him what he's doing there. Dad explains that he's here to wish his daughter a happy birthday, but Vish tells him that he wasn't invited and can't come in. He also won't take the gift that he's brought for her. Vish tells him that ever since she married and left his home, she is dead to him. Vish sends him away and closes the door on him.
Back
inside, Madhu is quietly weeping on the couch. Vish comes in, and takes a very
large military type knife out of its scabbard. He heads over to the couch, grabs
Madhu, and pulls her down to the floor where the cake is. He takes her arms in
his and they cut the cake. Then he pulls her up and starts dancing with her.
As the music plays and he drags her limply around the room, the scene fades back to the present where Vish is still sitting in his hotel room.
Here we are at the end of the first flashback, and I hate this guy already. Maybe it's because I'm sweet on Manisha, but I think that most people would agree this guy is pretty messed up.
