We
see Kajal hanging out at the student union. All of her old friends come to visit
and bully her into doing the play they used to perform. She reluctantly agrees.
However, the old lead just isn't doing a good job anymore. Everyone wishes that
Raj would come back for this one last performance since he was such a hit.
Wouldn't you know it, as soon as they say that Raj walks in to take his old part
back.
This time around, Raj goes a little bit off script, and tells Kajal that he's still madly in love with her and can't live without her. Oh, and as he's taking her into a warm embrace, that's about the time Jiya shows up at the theater. As she watches her fiancée make time with his old flame, she takes us into the final musical number of the show, "Rabba Ishq Na Hove."

This is a pretty catchy song. As they sing about how love can really jerk people around, we see lots of little fight scenes where Jiya is trying to keep Kajal and Raj separated. Oh, and keep an eye out for the shot where Raj and Kajal are being hit by the waves. Sort of spoils the mood when the lady is nearly drowning.
Back in reality (as it were) Kajal is weirded out by the way Raj is behaving and leaves the theater. He goes after her to try and talk to her but she tells him that he's wrong in what he's doing.
Time for a culture moment. Forgive me if I'm getting this wrong, but everyone I've asked about this says this is basically correct. Marriage in India is taken quite a bit more seriously than in the States. The wife becomes a permanent member of the husband's family, no matter what. So, in our case here, Kajal has essentially become the daughter of the Singhaniya family. If she were to marry someone else, that would be considered immoral and/or a taboo. In some families and states, if the husband were to die, the widow is expected to never marry again. You get one shot at it. I am told that this way of thinking is starting to change, but it is still not widely done.
Kajal
tells Raj that it's not going to happen. She finally pulls out the big guns and
tells Raj that if he doesn't marry Jiya, she'll kill herself. Once again, Jiya
chooses the best possible time to be within earshot. She gives Kajal a serious
stink-eye, then comes over all nonchalant. They make some small talk, then Kajal
leads Jiya off while Raj scowls after them.
At the Singhaniya house, Dad is worried about how sad Kajal has become. Jiya suggests that they find someone to marry her again. Her father seems to think that's not such a good idea, and tells her that it would be tough to find someone willing to marry a widow. Her mother tells her that they'd have no objections if they could find a suitable match. Jiya tells them not to worry, she's already got someone in mind.
