Back at the academy, Raj is feeling a little homesick. He begins seeing Kajal everywhere he looks, leading to some very embarrassing daydreams that get out of hand, including almost kissing his roommate and ballroom dancing with an imaginary partner in front of his class. This is all accompanied by the next musical selection, "Kitna Pagal Dil Hai."

If you guessed this was another ballad about how love can affect you, you've got a cookie on the way.

The song ends with the graduation of the cadets. Raj comes home to a warm reception from his family and Kajal. She's very excited and tells him that she has something important to tell him. He says he does too, but she should go first. She begins telling him about something that happened to her on a trip she recently took with the theater group.

She was left behind in one of the cities they performed in, and had to get to the next town for the next show. As she fretted about what to do, a helicopter landed on the yard at the hotel. She concocted a tale about how she knew the pilot's boss and how friendly it would be if he could drop her off in the next town for her show. He finally agrees to take her. The whole time they are in the air, he keeps sneaking glances at her, so she finally calls him out on it. He apologizes and stops.

That night at the show, she finds out that the pilot and the owner of the helicopter were the same person, Mr. Karan Singhaniya. So he knew the whole time she was bluffing, but he tells her that it's okay. He was having fun. He flies her back home and everyone is impressed with Karan. It seems he can do just about anything. He is respectful to the elders, offers to teach them some new recipes, and knows some natural treatments for some of Grandma's ailments.

He even takes Kajal to the "pilot's club" where all of his airplanes are kept. He tells her to pick one out and they go for a flight. While they're up there, oh say around 30,000 feet, Karan asks Kajal to marry him (d'oh!). Raj is shocked to hear this part, and asks her what her reply was. She says that she told Karan she couldn't answer him until she had Raj's approval. Just to make sure, Raj asks that if he forbids her to marry him, then she definitely won't do it. She says yes, that is the case. But she wants him to meet Karan just once, and is sure that he will not forbid it.

She says that was it for her big news, and asks him what the important thing he wanted to talk about was. Raj lies and says that it was about her wedding, and he wants to meet Karan right away. Kajal gets excited and sets up the meeting.

We find our friends waiting at a table in a fancy restaurant. Kajal checks Raj's watch until she sees Karan come into the dining room. She says she's going to freshen up and leaves the table before Karan gets there, giving the men a chance to talk without her being there.

Karan introduces himself and begins to tell Raj how he feels about Kajal, and that he would die without her. So, his life is in Raj's hands since her decision rests on his approval. Kajal returns to the table and joking asks if Karan is bribing Raj. Raj replies that he doesn't have to, and that Kajal could not get a better "life-partner" than Karan. The happy couple is thrilled at the news! However as they have a group hug, we can see tears in Raj's eyes.
