We fade from the weepy Raj to the wedding. As we see the festivities unfolding it is clear that Raj is in a lot of pain. As they cut the cake and open the champagne, the crowd notices that Raj has started to ... sing! He serenades the newlyweds with "Kisise Tum Pyar Karo."

During the course of the song Raj gets pulled into some of the dances, then works his way out again. This happens a few times before he manages to completely remove himself from the party and heads off on his own. After a while Kajal notices his absence and asks his sister-in-law why he left. Being put on the spot like that, all she can do is tell Kajal the truth - Raj is in love with Kajal and wanted to marry her. Kajal looks astonished then runs off to find Raj.

She doesn't have to go far. He's downstairs in a large receiving room. She catches him off guard and he tries to dry his eyes, citing "tears of joy." She tells him to shut up (literally) and asks why he never told her how he felt. He replies that he never thought he had to - that his feelings were pretty easy to tell. She curses herself for not having picked up on this sooner. He asks her if he had proposed first, would she have accepted it. She says she doesn't know, and that to think of it now would be a sin. She tells him not to do anything to hurt himself since that would be an insult to all of the people that love and care about him. She tells him that just because someone you love leaves you, the world doesn't come to an end. She leaves by telling him, "Goodbye, Stupid." She runs up the steps and out of the room.

Raj follows some time after as the guests are seeing the couple off in the car. He runs alongside and eventually pushes the car off and stands in the dust it kicks up as we get our "Intermission" card. Take a break, we'll be right back.

We come back to the story with a series of shots of jet fighters taking off and landing. We see Raj walking away from the tarmac when he gets word that his brother and his family are there to visit. They want to know why he hasn't been home in months. His brother goes off to get some treats from the car, leaving Raj with Kiran (just found out the sister-in-law's name!). She tells him that they moved to another city to be closer to Raj's base, and so that he wouldn't have to go back to the town where his heart was broken. She wants to know why he's broken off contact with them. He tells her that in all of her letters she's constantly hassling him to get married, and he doesn't want to do that. She starts to cry and several of the other men in the room take notice. He finally agrees to look for a wife if she'll calm down. His brother comes back in and asks when he will visit. We learn that Raj is set to go to Europe for eight weeks to get trained on a new type of plane, and he'll be home after that.

We have another classroom/flying/buddies montage to show us the new planes he's learning to fly. Finally the guys get a break, so they decide to go to a dance club to have some fun. Jump cut to a typical loud dance club where we get our first glimpses of a new young lady who is really going to town on the dance floor. As she gyrates we see an amorous young man getting very close to her and starting to perhaps get a little too fresh. Raj is at the bar, and notices that the young lady doesn't seem to appreciate the guy's advances. She tells him to get off of her, and calls him Monty. She staggers over to the bar next to Raj and takes his drink. She orders a replacement for Raj, then wonders why he's looking annoyed at her.

She begins rambling and in the course of events manages to spill his new drink all over his shirt, then follows up by tearing his pocket while trying to clean him up. Monty comes over and begins to laugh like an idiot at Raj's torn pocket, so Jiya (she's not been introduced yet, but I'm calling her that anyway) rips Monty's pocket so he's got no room to talk. He's mad and drags her back to the dance floor. She tells Raj to give her his info and she'll send him a new coat.

Back in the dance area, Monty is getting even more grabby. Jiya tells him that just because he is the son of her father's business partner, that doesn't give him the right to paw at her. Finally Jiya's had enough and tries to hit him in the head with a beer bottle. However, she misses and ends up throwing it into the crowd where it hits someone else. This breaks down into a massive barroom brawl to rival those of an old Western movie. When Raj sees that a few guns have been pulled he grabs Jiya (who is oblivious to the trouble she has started and is dancing like a loon) and carries her out of the club.
