Outside in the yard, Nisha leads a group of inmates in a chant around a portrait of the goddess Durga. They seem to be getting along fine, when a guard comes out and informs Shivani that her presence has been requested in Betsy's office. Nisha and Shivani share a look of determination, as Shivani's eyes seem to communicate, "It's 'go time.'" Sensing her determination, Nisha begins to lead another chant to give Shivani the strength and will she will need to oppose Betsy.

We can see Betsy through the darkened gloom of the office as she knocks back a drink of something and blows a puff of smoke. In the foreground, Shivani comes into focus, and gives us a knowing look as she closes the doors to the office, locking herself inside with Betsy. She walks over to Betsy, who is still holding the bottle (I see now that it's whiskey). Betsy clenches her cigarette in her teeth and asks her if she knows why she's been called here today. Shivani says that she does. Shivani tells Betsy that people like her generally invite their own death. Betsy shoots her a harsh glare, then goes back to being cool and cocky. She says that Shivani seems to have forgotten the little lesson she was taught.

Shivani takes a few steps past Betsy, and says that she remembers all too well asking Betsy not to take her husband's keepsake away from her, but she did it anyway. As she says this, she reaches Betsy's desk, where she happens to have left her Stick of the Law. With her back to Betsy, she tells her that it is her turn to teach a lesson, but Betsy will not be able to remember it. The reason being, to remember things, people must be alive.

Betsy tries to slap her, but Shivani catches her by the wrist. Shivani tells Betsy that she once said no one took a breath in her prison without Betsy's permission, but today the breathing orders are coming from Shivani. This leads to quite a battle between the two of them, although it's pretty much Shivani's show for most of it. We also have some rather exciting music playing while this goes on, with occasional cuts outside to Nisha and the other worshipers, who are singing and playing music to honor the retribution that is finally being dealt to the deserving parties.

The fight eventually leads outside, and Betsy tries to put some distance between her and Shivani. This was a poor choice, as Shivani easily closes the gap and starts flinging Betsy into brick walls with a scarf wrapped around her neck. After some wrangling, Shivani manages to get Betsy into the noose at the gallows, and puts an end to her reign of tyranny.

We have a sudden (and I do mean sudden) cut to the next day. The first thing we see is Inspector Singh slapping Shivani in the head repeatedly. He accuses her of killing Betsy, but Nisha intervenes. She tells him that Shivani was with them the entire time they were having their prayers. Singh stares at them for a moment until someone comes to tell him the Commissioner wants to see him in the office. As he turns to go, Shivani tells him that she indeed did kill Betsy, but just as she had no proof that Vijay killed her husband, Singh has no proof that she killed Betsy, so how does he like those apples? I made a little bit of that up, but the spirit's the same.

A quick cut shows us Mohanlal at the horse track. There is some excitement as his horse, the one he's been waiting on the whole movie, finally wins the big prize. After seeing him collapse in joy, we go back to prison. Nisha asks Shivani where she's going to go, now that she's being released (guess the three years are over). She tells Nisha that there are some battles to fight out in the city. She plans to visit her brother-in-law first.

A quick cut to Mohanlal's place shows him sitting on the couch and cackling madly, while throwing his wads of cash into the air. In true villain form, he even says to himself how wonderful it is that those "three wretches left" and now he's rich. As he completes this sentence, the doors are flung open. Shivani is framed in the doorway, wearing what we'll call the Black Wrap of Death. She doesn't say anything at first. Mohanlal asks her why she's come here, since (I swear I'm not making this up) her sister and daughter both died. She explains to him that this is why she's come. None of her relatives are alive, so why should he be? He laughs her off, and asks if she's gone mad. Quite calmly, she says that's exactly what's happened. After all she's been through, that was the natural progression of things. She closes the doors to the house, then proceeds to soundly kick Mohanlal's ass. Not only that, but she manages to bite a piece of his arm off after grappling with him for quite a while.
