Well,
Shivani's still not done with Mohanlal. He reels in pain on the floor as Shivani
catches her breath. Slowly he tries to turn over, but Shivani takes a large
kitchen knife from the table and stabs him through his left hand. She asks him
if it hurts, and says it's the same kind of pain he has inflicted on her, her
sister, and her child. Mohanlal begs for forgiveness, citing that he is her
brother-in-law. She tells him that she's doing her duty as his sister-in-law by
sending him to see his wife. She tells him he's hounded after money his whole
life like a starving dog, so he should eat his money now. Shivani starts shoving
wads of bills into Mohanlal's mouth, eventually choking him to death. She looks
over his remains, and then slowly plods out to the sidewalk. She drops to her
knees and sobs uncontrollably for a moment.
We go to the police station where two officers are reporting to Singh on what they found at Mohanlal's place. They are certain that the only motive was homicide, since there was money all over the place and nothing else seemed to be missing. Singh has an idea on who it might be, and asks if Shivani has been released from jail yet.
We then cut to a cemetery, where a caretaker is leading Shivani through the gates. The caretaker explains that no one came to claim the body of her sister, so it was cremated. The little girl was buried in this cemetery, so he leads her to little Pinky's grave. Shivani weeps as she remembers what Pinky once told her - "If Daddy doesn't come to me, I'll go to him." She mourns until her hand is stepped upon by Singh, who says he knew that she'd come to this place sooner or later. She demands that he move his foot, since her baby is sleeping there. He tells her not to worry, he will make sure she sleeps next to her. She gets away from him by throwing a handful of dirt into his eyes, and runs away while he staggers around.
Shivani
makes her way to a nearby barn and climbs to the hayloft to hide. Singh follows
as close as he can, and tiptoes through the lower level as he searches for her.
He eventually figures out where she is as she crawls along the rafters, causing
dust to fall through the cracks and onto his head. Singh shoots upwards through
the boards as Shivani runs frantically along to the end, leaping into a pile of
hay on the ground. Singh grabs her and knocks her head into the wall to daze
her, then begins to remove his clothes. Seeing what he has in mind, Shivani
thinks quickly. She grabs a shard of glass that fell from a window Singh shot
out and stabs him in the leg with it.
Shivani
rises from the ground, and brandishes a sword that she got from... somewhere.
She just has a sword now, okay? Singh isn't interested in seeing what she's
going to do with it, so he runs out of the barn as best he can, with a wounded
leg and in his boxer shorts. The chase goes on for probably longer than it needs
to, and they have to "reset" it a few times since Shivani is seen getting quite
close to Singh in a few shots, then she's way behind him in others. Singh
finally corners himself in an oddly burning cul-de-sac, and turns to face
Shivani. She starts hacking at him with the sword, and it seems she hits him. He
staggers into one of the burning objects and bursts into flames. She gives him a
few more whacks with the sword while he flails around on fire, then he finally
drops.
Moving along, we see her arriving at Vijay's house the next day. She lets herself into the courtyard and snoops around a bit before she is noticed by one of the residents. The lady asks her who she's looking for, and she gives her Vijay's name. We learn that the Agnihotri's have not lived here for at least two years. Looking confused and a little embarrassed, Shivani leaves. She decides to go back to the hospital she used to volunteer for, and asks to start again. The doctor in charge tells her that would be fine. Shivani asks for a post out of the city, since there are a lot of bad memories for her there. The doctor tells her there is a new sanitarium outside of town that she would be welcome to live in and work.
When
she arrives, she asks the doctor there how long this place has been here. She
learns that it was built two years ago, funded and maintained by donations from
Mrs. Padma Agnihotri. Yep, the same ones that used to live in Bombay! In fact,
they live in the bungalow just on the other side of the campus. Shivani gets a
look on her face that reads, "All too easy." Also as luck would have it, there's
a handy sickle in a pot nearby, so she grabs it and marches on over to the spot.
However, she passes someone being wheeled past her that gives her pause. She
stops and goes back to have another look to be sure, and sees that Vijay is in
the wheelchair, and seems to be catatonic.
In shock, she lets her weapon fall and she weeps as it dawns on her that revenge is out of her grasp.
