A little bit later, Shivani is walking around outside her house with a friend, when a Jeep bearing Vijay, Inspector Singh, and a somewhat familiar looking bald man pulls up near them. Vijay hops out and takes the bald man by the arm. He asks Shivani if this is the man who attacked her and stole her mangalsutra. Feeling a little awkward, she says that he's the guy. Singh walks slowly toward her and hands her back her necklace. She thanks him for returning to her, then she turns to walk away.

Here's where things get a little weird. Before Shivani can turn around, Vijay takes Singh's Stick of the Law and offers it to Shivani. He tells her to use it to beat the thief that attacked her. Shivani looks shocked, and declines the offer. Vijay says that the man committed a crime, and he should be punished for it. Still feeling a little lost, Shivani says that her property was returned, and the police will handle the punishment part.

Vijay thinks she doesn't understand. He says that the criminal must be made to know what happens when someone attacks Shivani. He then proceeds to beat the living daylights out of the mugger with the SotL. Shivani looks on in horror as Vijay goes ballistic on the guy. Finally she cries out for him to stop it, then hurries away as Vijay gives her a confused look. Vijay asks Singh if he had done something wrong, but Singh dismisses his confusion by (and I swear I'm not making this up) saying that women are hard to understand. Vijay gets a happy grin on his face as if to say, "Oh, well then I'm sure this must have impressed her!"

We jump to the beach where we find Shivani and Ashok walking along the shoreline. He says that he had no idea that Vijay was so hot-headed. Had he been there, he'd have taken the thief in, fed him, and ask him why he'd take such a big risk over a necklace. Shivani says he's being very funny, so Ashok changes tactics. He tells her that she should have an ice cream, and eat well today since she's fasting for Karva Chauth the next day. She laughs but also issues a gentle warning to remember what she's said. One day, somewhere down the road, Ashok will realize just what "a crack" Vijay is.

Speaking of Vijay, we go to have a look at him in his office. He makes some demands of his staff to step up the publicity and other such business matters for the new airline. The other managers are concerned that they're moving so fast, and that there are a few key roles that have yet to be filled. Vijay tells them all not to worry, he has just the guy for the job.

Back to the vacation! We see Shivani pacing back and forth on the patio while wearing an elaborate shalwar kameez (thanks for the correction, Sanaa!). She complains that it's taking the moon forever to rise, and she's very thirsty. Ashok makes some humorous comments to think of ways she can get out of the event and have something to drink.

He makes a few other jokes to lighten her up, but she's not having it. Ashok eventually wanders inside to call Pinky and ask if she can see the moon so Shivani can break her fast. While he's inside, Shivani finally sees the moon break through the trees. She readies her screen and calls for Ashok to come outside. She says she must look at him through the screen before she can drink something. Shivani turns and instead of Ashok, she sees Vijay who has materialized out of nowhere.

Panic sets in, and Shivani drops her screen to run inside. Ashok tries to get a clear answer out of her about what's happened. She is worried because of the inauspicious effects that the mix-up can cause, plus she's mad that Vijay's there to begin with.

A bit later on, the guys are chatting. It seems that Vijay couldn't wait for them to get back to sigh the employment documents, so he flew there to get them done immediately. He offers Ashok a salary of 100,000 (that's 1 lakh if you're keeping track) rupees a month for the position, and Ashok cannot refuse. When Ashok talks this over with Shivani, she's certain that Vijay's worded the contract to jerk Ashok around so that he gets nowhere near that much cash.

Ashok asks her why she is so against this guy. I'd have thought the merciless beating of a helpless convict in public using the SotL of a crooked cop would be enough of a reason, but Ashok apparently needs more. She says that she hates him, and that he is crazy. She encourages Ashok to re-read the document and get back to her.
