Anjali
tells Raja that he'd better get going before someone notices them. He gives her
a reassuring pat on the hand, then heads out. On his way to the exit, he passes
Pallu, who stops him with an enthusiastic greeting. She flirts with him for a
while, then lets him go when she notices him looking at his watch. Pallu merrily
skips along the hallway, and happens to notice Anjali sitting at a table all by
herself, but with two coffee cups.
Feeling a little nosey, Pallu calls out to her and gives her a heart attack. Pallu makes her way to the table, then begins asking lots of innocent sounding but very prying questions about what Anjali's doing there. After Anjali has had enough abuse, she gets up to leave. Pallu blocks her way with her leg, and tells Anjali not to worry - she won't reveal her secret. When Anjali asks what she's talking about, Pallu makes a joke about Anjali's apparent two-fist approach to coffee drinking being secretive. Anjali rolls her eyes and stalks off, leaving Pallu behind to smirk and cackle to herself.
We
cut to Aditya's office as Anjali arrives. She lets herself into Aditya's
conference room only to find he's not alone. Dil is with him, and they appear to
be having a serious discussion. Aditya is pleased that she's come, and invites
her to sit down with them. Aditya tells Anjali that Dil always tells him the
truth, even if Aditya doesn't believe it initially. Dil gets a smarmy look on
his face, then flat out asks Anjali if she's seeing anyone other than Aditya.
Anjali gives him her well-practiced stink eye, and says nothing. This line of
questioning leads to a very roundabout way of asking them to postpone their
super vacation long enough to attend a gala event that Dil's putting together.
False alarm people, everyone back to their seats.
This was a rather lame "gotcha" moment that was supposed to make us think Anjali was busted, but instead it just comes through as being pretty silly. Of course, that seems to be Dil's modus operandi.
As annoying as Dil is, he's just solved Anjali's problem with delaying the trip. She smiles and tells Aditya that since his good friend is being so insistent on it, they might as well stay a little longer and go to the party. Aditya raises a little resistance since he's already adjusted his workload to accommodate the original timeline, but in keeping with his "family first" policy, he concedes to Anjali's idea.
Now
that that's been settled, it's time for the party. We see the guests filing in,
including the nasty harpies from the hair salon that were giving Anjali such a
hard time. Raja pulls up in his car, and parks it in the middle of the driveway
and leaves his lights on. All of the harridans swoon over him and generally make
fools of themselves. Dil notices that Raja has arrived and gives him a grand
welcome.
Dil leads Raja to the main party area and thanks him for coming on such short notice. As they make their way to the yard, Aditya notices Raja's entrance. He asks Anjali if that's the same musician that they met at the train station the other day, causing Anjali to whip her head around so fast she merits a "whoosh" sound. Aditya says he's going over to speak with him, leaving Anjali behind on a bench.
Raja casts smoldering looks at her from across the way while he feigns interest in the conversation around him. As Anjali sits in a mild panic attack, she is joined by Pallu, who is loving every minute of this. Pallu comments that this is all such a coincidence - first Raja turns up at the station, then the cafe, and now here of all places. Isn't it odd how some people's paths seem to cross so often?
Back
with the other group, Dil makes some off-color jokes about the mean ladies'
husbands, causing them to storm off in a huff. (For once, I'm actually happy
with something Dil said.) Dil tells Raja and Aditya not to worry, they'll be
back for the next party. He assures them that he's just livening things up a
bit, since the party's not really started until the scandals and broken hearts
start their parade.
Back at the bench, Pallu is getting more and more nasty with Anjali, making comments on how the words for "beloved" and "husband" are actually quite similar ("piya" and "miyan", respectively). Anjali snaps at her and asks Pallu what she's getting at. Pallu takes off the kid gloves and tells her that she's onto Anjali's little scheme, and could make a scene here at the party if she wanted to. That shuts Anjali up really quick.
