Vishal races down the steps and out the door. As he reaches the elevator door, Swati walks out of it and into the apartment in a daze. As Vishal follows her, we see a shot of the stairs going up to the next floor. As Vishal closes the door, an out of focus shot reveals the Blue Boy looking back over his shoulder at us.

Inside the apartment, we get a well-photographed shot of the stairs as Swati ascends them on autopilot. The tilt of the camera and the odd design of the room lends itself well to a disorienting shot, and it caps off the sense of confusion that is evident on Vishal's face nicely. He watches Swati go into their room, then he heads to the elevator. He rides down and cautiously steps out towards the watchman's chair. A look of dread and despair spreads across his face as he inches closer to the spot.

With a big hit on the soundtrack, we get to see what he's seeing - it looks like the watchman has met with an unfortunate end. It seems that someone has seen fit to give him a free neck adjustment, and twisted his head completely backwards! Vishal shrinks back into the elevator and goes back to the apartment. He goes into the bedroom and looks at his darling wife, now resting peacefully.

The next morning, the police investigation has begun. In a move that I thought odd, the body has not been covered or taken away. It's still sitting in the chair, in broad daylight, while a crowd of onlookers gawks at the scene. In a chair seated not too far from the body we find our lead inspector staring intently at the body. Qureshi gets a disgusted "what a pity" look on his face, then decides he'd better have a chat with the landlord.

Up in Thakkar's apartment, Qureshi begins asking lots of questions about the watchman. We get the impression that this is not our usual detective. He leads off with wondering why someone would go to such effort to twist someone's head around like this, when there are so many other ways to kill people. He asks Thakkar if he knows what kind of task that must have been, but Thakkar just stares at him like he's got lobsters coming out of his ears. Qureshi gets to the point and says he wants to know every detail about the watchman.

Qureshi also asks a few questions about the tenants. He is brought over to visit with Vishal, but Vishal doesn't let him into the apartment. Qureshi introduces himself, and says he would like to ask him some questions concerning the incident. He mentions that he knows the watchman had caused trouble for them not too long ago. Vishal clarifies the matter, and says it was simply a case of the watchman "misbehaving" with Swati, and she reprimanded him for it.

Qureshi starts looking over Vishal's shoulders to see what's in the apartment. He also asks where Swati is, so that he might speak with her. Vishal tells him there's no need for him to meet her, since he's here telling him what he wants to know. Qureshi presses the issue, and says that he wants to find out all of the clues, but Vishal tells him she is sleeping. Not one to be dissuaded, Qureshi reminds him that this is a murder case they're talking about, and that he should wake her up.

Thinking quickly, Vishal tells him that Swati is not feeling well, and shouldn't be bothered. Qureshi asks what happened to her, but Vishal tells him that that is none of his business. Qureshi takes a long hard look at Vishal, and they stare each other down. Finally Qureshi thanks Vishal for his cooperation, and offers his hand. Vishal gives him a weird handshake, then closes the door in his face.

Qureshi looks at the apartment number, and does some thinking. He asks Thakkar if this is the place Manjeet Khosla used to occupy, and Thakkar confirms it. Qureshi makes a "hmmm, very interesting" face, then heads out.
