Back to Jaidev's room. Liza continues to beat a dead horse, and says (again) that Mallika sleeps with Rahul, and that Jaidev should just forget about her. Another flash over to Mallika's room shows them "kissing" behind a solid wall of Mallika's hair, and it's quite clear to all but the most nearsighted that their faces aren't lining up at all. We then see Jaidev march into the room and interrupt them. Mallika furiously demands to know what he's doing in there, but Jaidev doesn't answer. Instead he lifts his pistol and fires into Rahul's chest several times.
This
leads to a shot of a glass being shattered on the floor, then a reveal that all
that shooting business was only Jaidev's antisocial imagination. Once more for
the sake of being thorough, Liza goes over most of the material again, then
makes one of the boldest moves I've seen in one of these shows. She stands in
front of Jaidev, and takes off her dress to reveal some surprisingly skimpy
undergarments. She then hops on top of Jaidev and mentions that there are other
people who might be interested in him, if he would get over this whole "I love
Mallika" deal he's stuck on.
Jaidev still does nothing. He lies there while Liza does her best to get him to change his mind, but eventually is pushed off to the side while Jaidev sits up and pouts for a moment. He then takes a belt from the whiskey bottle, and Liza leaves in a huff.
Some
time later, we find Mallika emerging from her bathroom in a robe, and drying her
hair. She sees Rahul primping in front of the mirror, and goes over to help him
with his hair (not usually a two-person job, but whatever). Rahul's been
thinking. He tells Mallika that he swore to himself that ever since the death of
his father, he would not think of his own needs and wants until he was sure he
could handle his father's extensive media empire. However, now that things seem
to be more or less running smoothly, it is time for him to think about some of
his personal matters. She asks him what he intends to do next. Rahul says that
he has fame, fortune, and whatnot, but now he would like to get married. Mallika
thinks this is cute, and asks him if he's found a girl yet. Thinking that she's
just playing around, he dances around the topic for a moment, then tells her
that he kind of thought Mallika might want to marry him. Mallika tells him that
if that's his plan, then there might be a problem - she has no intentions of
ever getting married. She says things are great the way they are
now, and getting married will only screw it up.
Rahul decides to let this go for now, and they head out to get some shopping done. In the lobby, Rahul gets a call and goes off to take it. Mallika waits alone in the lobby for him to get back. As she waits, a van pulls up right in front of her. The doors fly open, and the guy who got grabby the previous night jumps out with a partner. They grab Mallika and drag her into the van as Rahul and Jaidev (good work, bodyguard!) finally notice and run towards them. The van speeds away as Jaidev and someone in the van trade shots. Yes, they shoot at each other. Jaidev is not a cop, and they're out in public in front of the hotel, shooting. Don't worry, the police don't show.
We
cut to the open highway where the van is puttering along, making its getaway.
Suddenly Rahul and Jaidev appear on the back of SuperWonderBike in hot pursuit.
Jaidev is so cool that he's able to shoot the pistol out of the gunman's hand.
That's while riding on the back of a motorcycle, traveling at moderate speeds,
aiming at a moving target about the size of a shoe. After some
hilariously choreographed ducking from the bullets (including another
shot of someone pretending to fire a clearly unloaded gun), Jaidev leaps onto
the van and throws one of the passengers out onto the road.
The other men in the van miss their friend that's on the ground, so they surprisingly stop the van in the middle of an intersection, leading to a big ol' brawl in public - just the way we like them. This fight actually comes out a lot better than I expected it to, with only one obvious missed punch. When everyone is good and beaten, Rahul checks on Mallika and basically gets the credit for the rescue, bruising Jaidev's already delicate pride.
Remember
Rashmi? Well it's time to check in with her again. We see her at home, talking
on the phone. She is distracted by a story on the news about the attempted
kidnapping of Mallika, and she gets very upset. She looks relieved when she
learns that Mallika did survive the encounter, and heaves a big sigh.
Over at Mallika's place, we see her being preened by a squad of beauty technicians. She declines a telephone interview, but is pleased to see that some flowers have arrived for her. They are from Rashmi, and she wishes Mallika well after her ordeal. Mallika is touched by the gesture, and tells Liza to send her a thank you note.
Outside Rahul's house, we see Rashmi talking to the gatekeeper of the estate. He tells her that if she wants a meeting, she'll need to go to the business offices. Rashmi says that she tried that and got nowhere. She begs the gatekeeper to give her demo CD to Rahul for him to listen to, but he doesn't want to do it.
