We see Rahul's car pulling up outside of Rashmi's house. He climbs out and finds Rashmi sitting in the garden with her dad. She sees him walking over and excitedly gets up to greet him. She introduces Rahul to her father, and Rahul breaks the good news. The VCD was good enough to impress the company, and they've decided to have Rashmi put out an album! Rashmi is of course thrilled by the news, and we waste no time getting to work. We cut to the studio where Rashmi is wailing into a microphone to lay down the tracks for her new song, "Dilbar O Dilbar."

We cut from the end of the song to a "comedy" scene with Manmo and someone else looking for work. This time it's a music director, and they spend the next minute and a half adding nothing to the plot whatsoever. Therefore, I'll just move along!
Inside
Rahul's office, a meeting with Rashmi is being held. Rahul gives her an envelope
containing a gift - a check for a million rupees. She tries to decline it,
saying that he's already given her a break in the business, and that's enough of
a gift already. Manmo comes in and tells her to take the check. She's going to
have to get used to getting paid to sing, so no time to start like the present.
Rashmi says that she has a request for Rahul. She would like Mallika to be the
guest of honor at her album's launch party. Rahul tells her that would be easy
to arrange, and offers to take Rashmi to Mallika's house right now, so she can
ask her in person.
Rashmi is led into Mallika's living room, and Rahul tells her to have a seat while he goes to find her. Rashmi can hardly believe what's happening to her. She looks around the room in awe, and slowly sinks onto one of the chairs. Behind her, Rahul leads Mallika down the steps and into the room. They have some introductions, and Rashmi explains how she's been a huge fan of Mallika's for a long time. She would be honored to have Mallika there with her as she takes her first steps on the road of her career.
Mallika
is touched by this request, and says that she will definitely be there to be a
part of her big night. A quick cut puts us at the party! We see Mallika being
led in as a phalanx of reporters snap millions of pictures. When she's up on the
stand, Rashmi is introduced. Mallika takes a pair of scissors and cuts the
ribbon on a gift-wrapped box containing cassettes (!) of Rashmi's new album.
They all hold up some of the tapes as more pictures are taken. The reporters
then ask for Rashmi to come down alone, leaving Mallika and Rahul on the
stage.
As Rashmi smiles nervously at all the attention, Mallika grows visibly uncomfortable. She fidgets for a bit, then tells Rahul that she feels as if she should be going. Rahul tries to get her to stay a little longer, but she's not having it.
The
next day we see Manmo on the phone. He's calling Rashmi to tell her that her
album is a huge hit, in every one of the markets. Rashmi is thrilled at the
news, and Manmo tells her this is just the beginning. We start seeing some
magazine covers slide by, with lots of pictures of Rashmi gracing them. A few
have little inset pictures of Mallika, asking if she's about to be finished in
the business.
Rashmi shows her father some of the press she's been getting, and he is very proud of her. He says he wasn't so sure she was making the right choice by pursuing this career path, but she has proven him wrong. He cheers her on as her phone rings. She answers to find Rahul on the line. He tells her that he is outside, and wants to take her someplace to celebrate the good news.
