Asha
bursts into Bhalla's office where he is having a meeting with Marcelloni. She
immediately lays into him with accusations of falsely accusing Chander of
kidnapping and generally being an ass. Bhalla tries to tell her that he was just
worried about her, that he loves her, and that they are still going to get
married. Asha tells him to think again, as she's not on board with that idea.
Asha tells him never to speak to her like this again, and storms out of the
office.
Bhalla slowly sinks back down to his desk, looking quite embarrassed in front of Marcelloni. Marcelloni understands, and says that he feels as though he can give Bhalla some advice. Bhalla listens intently as Marcelloni tells him to give Chander a promotion. Bhalla is confused, but there's more to the plan. A few days after the promotion, Chander will take command of another shipment of goods, and Marcelloni will send his ninja squad to kill Chander. They will then spread the story that Chander had stolen the shipment and was in the process of delivering it when he was stopped. This will cause Asha to hate Chander, and set her up nicely for Bhalla to step in and woo her.
Back
at the barracks, the news of the promotion has reached the ranks. Dilher is
thrilled and rallies all of the other men in a cheer for Chander. One of them
comments that this is one of the fringe benefits of dating the daughter of the
company's owner, but Dilher shuts him up. He says that Chander earned this one
his own, and they're going to celebrate the good news together.
Chander steps out of the barracks and goes to see Bhalla. He tells Bhalla that he doesn't want the promotion just because of his relationship with Asha. Bhalla tells him that this has nothing to do with Asha, merely that Chander has earned this distinction on his own merits. Chander isn't convinced. He says that if indeed this promotion wasn't the recommendation of Asha's, then Dilher Singh is the person that should be getting promoted. Bhalla tells him that he needs to stay out of the affairs of the management, and their decisions are final.
At this point Asha comes into the office and says that with all of the recent commotion, no one has mentioned that her birthday is coming up in the next week. As she tells Bhalla what she wants for her big day, we see that she's secretly playing with Chander's fingers behind their backs. Wasting no time, we go right to the big night. Asha enters the barracks in her full party outfit and tells the men that due to Bhalla's mistake on timing, no invitations were sent to her party. She invites the whole squad in person. They are thrilled with the idea and we cut to the party! Of course this is all a setup for the next musical number, "Commando, Commando."

During the song, Chander and Asha are playing cutesy-poo games with each other and being all romantic (and clog dancing). This drives Bhalla insane and Mirza looks on with disgust and concern. Now that I think of it, it's pretty safe to say that any time Mirza looks at anyone doing anything, he's doing it with disgust and concern. As the song ramps up to a fast-paced ending, the boys from the squad show up and crash the bar, making a lot of ruckus and generally pissing off all of the people in suits.
As
the music dies down, we see Kailashpuri Malhotra (Asha's dad) arriving at
the party. He asks Bhalla if Chander is the man that he had written to him
about, and Bhalla indicates that he is. Malhotra storms over to Chander and
tells him that he is fired. Asha balks at this, but Chander takes the high
road. He says that he might be fired, but he's determined to take Asha with
him when she is ready to leave. Dilher Singh also chimes in that if Chander
is fired for no good reason, then the whole commando squad will go on
strike. Seeing that he's caught in a bit of a tough spot, Malhotra simply
seethes as the men march off to their barracks. As they go, Mirza says
something that I'm sure was meant to be, "Oh don't worry, I'm going to get
you good!" but the subtitles aren't quite clear on that.
We see what he means the following morning. Mirza marches alongside another delivery truck, and sees Chander standing by the door. He asks Chander why they've not left yet, and he explains that the driver has a stomach ache and they're waiting on a replacement. Mirza tells Chander that he should drive himself, and sends him off. Uh oh.
