A
jump cut to the arms factory shows us that it's Training Day at the camp. The
new, fresh-faced commandos are all lined up as the commander arrives to scream
at them. We have a typical Drill Sergeant vs. Recruits scene, where he screams
all of the rules at the newbies and tells them how things are going to be.
Things seem to be progressing normally. One of the men lined up with the
recruits is Dilher Singh, and he chimes in with some orders of his own so we
know he is Not One To Mess With. As the Mirza (the commander) makes his way down
the line, he stops in front of Chander. Chander is wearing his father's watch,
and it chooses an inopportune time to start beeping. Mirza pulls Chander out of
the ranks, and tells him that this is not acceptable, and he will not wear the
watch again.
Chander says that he understands the order, but this is his father's watch. Mirza interrupts him and tells him that he will not tolerate such insubordination. He doesn't care who or what gave Chander the watch, he is not to be seen with it again. Chander reluctantly acknowledges the order, and steps back into the ranks.
To continue meeting new people, we now cut to an expensive looking house where a young woman is busy stalking around a room with a pair of fly swatters. This is Asha Malhotra, so we'll call her that. An enthusiastic man comes into the room and greets her, well, enthusiastically. This is Moolchand Bhalla, Asha's father's employee and general sycophant. He tells Asha that she shouldn't be wasting a lovely evening such as this by killing flies at home. He tells her that he's taking her to the grand opening of the A-1 Disco. No, not the steak sauce.
We
cut to the club, where Marcelloni is cutting the ribbon to officially open the
place. The dance floor fills with people lurching about to frantic drum
machines. Marcelloni seems to take an odd interest in Bhalla and Asha, and
stares at them in a disconcerting fashion. The two shake their groove things for
a while, until Bhalla notices the attention they've attracted and takes Asha
over to meet the powerful and influential Marcelloni.
The formal introduction is made, but Asha is not overcome with Marcelloni's awesome power. She asks if she was brought here to dance or to meet people. The gentlemen laugh and gesture for her to return to the dance floor where clearly there's more fun to be had. They watch her with an appraising eye as she resumes her spirited boogying.
Things
look to be fine until a group of four unsavory types join Asha on the dance
floor and start tugging at her shoulders. She initially shrugs them off, but
they become more insistent that she pay attention to them. Asha gets angry and
slaps one of them in the face, then goes back to dancing. You know, instead of
doing something smart, like getting away from these guys. Sure enough they
resume their assault, and she is caught by her arms. Seeing that his date is in
trouble, Bhalla jumps into the mix and starts beating up some of the Bad Guys.
Asha also gets involved and between the two of them they are able to defeat the attackers in a badly choreographed fight scene (something that you'll want to get used to. We've got a long way to go). Marcelloni doesn't seem impressed (frankly, I can't say I blame him) and Bhalla tells Asha to go wait in the car as he'll be right out. Right after Asha leaves, the attackers come over to Bhalla and he starts handing them money. It seems this was all a gag to impress Asha, but really I don't think anyone's all that amazed.
Marcelloni
is seen with his arms dealing riot starting cronies as he shows them around his
new club. They say that they are more interested in seeing the forces and
materials that Marcelloni has been working on assembling, so he takes them out
to a training facility nearby. Here we find lots and
lots of ninjas all running around on obstacle courses, flipping about on
trampolines (yes!) and beating each other with sticks, all to the tune of
Star Wars music.
One ninja in particular stands out as being adept at what he's doing. He's also the only one in a red outfit while everyone else is in either black or white. He whips a whole bunch of ass before he notices that they are being watched by the suits, and he goes over to see what's going on.
