As
Chander and Asha begin their journey, we cut back to the scene of the battle.
Most of the soldiers are all standing around, groaning and holding their various
injuries. Bhalla has arrived at the site and is furious. He demands to know what
happened here, so one of the men tells him that they were attacked. Bhalla asks
why they fought back (does that seem like a suspicious question to anyone else?
Why send soldiers but tell them ... never mind.) when they had orders not to, then
immediately asks where Asha is. The soldier tells him that Chander took her away
to safety across "the border," and that it was he who started the fight to begin
with. Bhalla vows to inflict great harm upon Chander when he has the chance.
That chance is not now, though. Ominous music rolls in as Marcelloni shows up to survey the carnage. Mirza straightens up and prepares for trouble. Marcelloni asks the obvious questions, and we hear the same explanation we've heard before, only this time Mirza gets to say it. Marcelloni is curious about this new firebrand on the force, and asks where Chander is now. Bhalla explains that he's taken Asha over "the border" and they're not sure where they are right now.
Well let's find out for ourselves! Cut to the pair in question. It's now raining, and Asha is miserable. She asks Chander where he is taking her, and he says he doesn't know. She doesn't look too excited about this reply, but says nothing. We cut to Marcelloni driving... somewhere and putting a call out on the radio to Fox Two. He tells this guard post to be on the lookout for our cute little fugitives, and they are to be killed on sight. The orders are acknowledged, and then it's back to suffering in the rain with Asha and Chander.
They
wander around aimlessly for some time, before Asha squeals and points to a human
skeleton lying on the ground nearby. Chander sees that this is just the
beginning of their discoveries, and points to the broken fuselage of an airplane
a few yards away. They go inside and make use of the shelter to wait out the
night.
Asha complains about being cold again, so Chander does what he can to make her comfy. He wrings the rain out of her light jacket, then drapes it over her shoulders. He then vigorously rubs her limbs to get the blood going, as well as the romantic music on the soundtrack. Asha looks at him in a whole new light (literally. He's got a blue spotlight on him, while she glows yellow) and we can see the ideas being written across her mind.
There
is an abrupt cut to a shot of the sun rising, and the two of them have
separated. They lie next to a fire (in an airplane filled with hay. Good
thinking.) and rest after the long night of walking and ninja attacks. Chander
slowly wakes up, and notices that there's a cobra sitting immediately next to
Asha's head! He calmly says her name, and she remains motionless. Chander
belly-crawls over to her, and reaches for a piece of wood nearby. He tosses the
wood against the side of the plane, drawing the snake's attention. The snake
attacks towards the sound, giving Chander a moment to pull Asha away from
danger. He then grabs the snake and hurls it into a pile of hay, which gives it
the hint and it slithers away.
His
hero status now firmly locked in with Asha, they head out to continue their
journey home. They find themselves in a village populated by a lot of angry
looking Chinese people. The whole town begins following them menacingly until
they reach a dead end. Asha tells them all that they are looking for a vehicle
to get home, and they somehow lose their bloodlust. They point off in the
direction of the nearest car, and let them go.
We've now reached the point in the movie where my patience was truly tested. What's about to happen is a long, protracted comic relief section, with an over the top comedian, and a musical number thrown in. The whole thing takes about ten minutes. Okay, let's get this over with.
