Sunil
thinks that Kiran has lost faith in him, since he has been unable to catch
Kiran's stalker and put an end to this madness. He thinks that she feels he will
be unable to protect her once they are married. Kiran assures him that this is
not the case. In fact, she isn't even worried about getting killed. She's more
concerned about something happening to Sunil. He tells her that someone who has
her love and trust can come to no harm. They get all huggy here, and jump cut to
Captain Mehra's house. Wait a minute... that's also Rahul's house!
The happy couple are there to personally invite the Capt. to the wedding. They have some charming and oh so witty banter about how Kiran was able to convince Sunil to get married, followed by the Captain saying he wished Kiran had a sister so he could get someone to marry Rahul, his son. They all have a good laugh at Rahul's bachelorhood, then Sunil and Kiran take their leave.
As
soon as they are gone, Rahul comes trotting out of his room. He asks his father
if they had just had company, and he learns who was there. The Captain tells
Rahul that he needs to find a nice girl like Kiran to marry so that his life can
become easier. Rahul gets a little choked up, and says that there are no other
girls like Kiran. His father agrees, and hands over the wedding invitation. He
tells Rahul that Sunil has insisted that he attend.
Rahul takes the card and goes to his room. He stares at the card as if it had insulted him personally. He sets it down on a glass coffee table, and begins banging a drinking glass on the table's surface as he chants "no!" repeatedly. The pounding grows faster and faster until he screams out a nice loud "Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!" and flings the glass tabletop into a corner. It's one tough table, and the glass surprisingly does not break!
Rahul
goes over to one of the projected images of Kiran on his wall and explains to
her that she can't belong to anyone else. He pleads with the various pictures to
not punish him so severely. He tries to tell them that he's only alive because
of her love and her pictures. He pulls himself together, and tells himself that
this is not the time to cry. He needs to do something to save Kiran from this
threat that is advancing on her. With the promise of mayhem ahead, we forge
boldly ahead to the next scene.
We find ourselves at a jewelry shop with Kiran, Poonam, and Sunil. We have a rather prolonged sequence of the women pointing out and comparing various necklaces while Sunil sits off to the side looking bored.
Sunil
has gotten himself into some trouble while Kiran and Poonam were looking away.
He continually tugs on a ring that is stuck on his finger, and Kiran notices his
problem. She scolds him for misbehaving as Poonam looks exasperated. The woman
behind the counter sees the situation and tells them not to worry. They can get
the ring back by cutting it off. Both Kiran and Poonam think she means they want
to cut off Sunil's finger, but look relieved when they realize they mean the
ring.
They have them wrap up two expensive looking sets of jewelry as Sunil has the ring snipped. They all walk outside, joking about the silly situation Sunil often finds himself in. As they do so, we see Rahul in the distance. He points a pistol at Sunil's back, and fires a shot. Sunil is grazed by the bullet but is not seriously hurt. He turns to see who fired, and only sees Rahul's back as he races away from the scene. Not one to take being shot at lightly, Sunil chases after him for a very prolonged foot race. I have to point out this section where Rahul runs headlong into a utility pole, smacking his face really hard. Amazingly this doesn't even slow him down.
