As things progress in the shrine, we cut over to check out what Rahul's been up to. After we are shown a gruesome splatter of fluids on a wall, we see that he has been busy carving Kiran's name into his own chest with a rather impressive knife. He watches himself in his mirror, and speaks to Kiran even though she's not around. He tells her that he knows all of the rituals in the temple and the adornments Sunil has placed on her are all a sham, and that he will wash her clean with Sunil's blood! To emphasize just how serious he feels, he then stabs the heck out of the little table in front of him, causing the Intermission title card to jump out onto the screen.

Since Rahul has all of us very stressed out, it's time to blow off a little steam. We come back from the break and go right into "Solah Button," our next musical number. Everyone is decked out in fancy clothes, so I'm thinking this is a celebration for Kiran's recent nuptials. She's the center of attention and everyone belts out the tune for her.

As the festivities wind down, Sunil and Kiran head out for their new home. They have a tearful goodbye with Vijay and Poonam, then head off in their car that has been decorated with flowers. There are some police guards there for their protection, but Sunil hints that they aren't really necessary. In between most of their verbal exchanges, we get little cut-aways to Rahul somewhere nearby, looking like he's brooding over something. Still, the guards won't leave the newlyweds alone, so Sunil sends them upstairs in the elevator. Sunil then tells Kiran that it is traditional for the groom to carry his bride into their new home, so he picks her up and starts climbing the stairs.

We see that Rahul is actually hiding in the machine room that houses the motor and other mechanisms for the elevator. As the happy couple ascends on foot, the elevator suddenly changes direction and starts going with gravity's suggestion at high speeds. Sunil hears the commotion and tells Kiran to continue on up without him while he checks things out. The elevator crashes to the ground, presumably killing the police inside. At this point, we aren't shown inside the elevator since Kiran starts shrieking as soon as Sunil reaches the door. Sunil then turns around and runs up seven flights of stairs to their apartment. When he comes through the door, he sees that the place has been ransacked and "I Love You Kiran" has been spray-painted all over the walls, both in Hindi and in English.

Sunil is reasonably shocked and begins calling out for Kiran. Kiran's seemingly had her bell rung, as she's now mindlessly walking through the apartment muttering "shaadi mubarak" ("wedding congratulations") to herself over and over again. Sunil tries to get her to respond with something else, but she collapses into his arms as oddly triumphant music plays. This music cuts off mid-measure as we go into the bedroom. Sunil has put Kiran on the bed and is trying to soothe her rattled nerves. He tucks her into bed and leaves the room, as Kiran stirs a bit in bed. She looks up to some of the writing on the wall, and we transition over to Rahul's place where he's singing to her slideshow. The song is one we've heard before (the one he was serenading her with at college) but this time it's slower, more deliberate and has a somewhat militaristic feel to it with lots of drums.

As Rahul flops down onto his cushions (exhausted after such a stirring song) we cut back to the apartment where Sunil is sitting in the living room in the dark, doing nothing. He hears Kiran cry out his name in the bedroom, and he races off to see what is the matter!
