As Rahul tugs on Kiran's arm to get dressed, we see a close-up of some fingers reaching up and grasping the rail of the boat. In dramatic slow motion, we see the mighty Sunil (clad in his "I mean business, dammit" black head scarf) hoisting himself up over the railing to land with a magnificent thump on the deck. Channeling the Spirit of Atul, he has remedied his two stab wounds in his abdomen by tying a piece of cloth around himself. That should do it! Rahul begins warning him not to come any closer, but Sunil doesn't care. He methodically plods along the deck directly towards Rahul while the triumphant theme from The Last of the Mohicans plays again.
Sunil
reaches Rahul, who goes for an oar. Rahul hits Sunil with the oar twice, and
Sunil doesn't so much as flinch (I could have sworn I heard James Earl Jones off
in the distance, saying "the Atul is strong in this one."). After his pounding,
Sunil grabs the oar in his left hand and smashes it with his right. He then
wallops Rahul in the face with a fierce backhanded punch. Rahul flies across the
deck and lands with a groan. Sunil tosses him across the boat, sending him
smashing through some boards on the side.
Sunil then kicks the prone form of Rahul so hard in the face that he flips up and over, landing on his back. After a few more hits, Rahul somehow finds the strength to fight back. He head-butts Sunil right in his knife wounds, causing Sunil to stagger (but just a little!). This leads to more fighting, back and forth, it's terribly exciting and damp.
If I seem less than descriptive here, it's mostly due to the fact that this is just a big fight scene without much to tell in the way of story. The two men just beat the tar out of each other, smashing half of the stuff on the boat.
Things
finally get interesting when Rahul finds an axe in the cabin and tries to show
it to Sunil's sinuses. Sunil gains the upper hand and has Rahul up against the
console of the boat with the axe poised over him. Kiran, who has been helpfully
watching and gasping a short distance away shouts out to Sunil with some advice.
She thinks it would be in everyone's best interest if Sunil were to kill Rahul.
When Rahul hears his beloved Kiran wishing him dead, he looks shocked. Sunil smashes Rahul through every piece of glass on the boat and bends a few railings with him before throwing him to the deck once more. In this quiet moment, Rahul looks up and meets Kiran's gaze. He flashes back to all of the times that he's hurt Sunil and it seems as though he's having a moment of true remorse for what he has wrought on this happy couple.
The
moment doesn't last long though, as Sunil produces a pistol from his belt
(what?!) and opens fire. Rahul takes three slugs in the torso before slumping
onto the bench seat at the rear of the boat. He begins his mortal soliloquy to
Kiran, saying that he knows that he has done some very bad things to upset her
(it's true, it really is), but he asks her not to hate him. He struggles to get
out a last "I love you," but he expires before he can finish his trademark
phrase.
As he slumps over, the strains of his theme song, "Tu Hai Meri Kiran" roll in over the scene. Kiran looks at his inert form with pity, and she sees the scars on his chest from when he carved her name into it. Sunil and Kiran embrace as they breathe easily for the first time in ages. Oh, and the stagehands that were responsible for rocking the boat can't make up their minds, as the water is more or less still, but the boat will occasionally lurch to the side.
We
cut to the airport sometime later. Vijay and Poonam welcome the newlyweds back,
but Vijay's worried. He had been all relieved when Vicky died, but then came
Rahul. What happens if there's another phone call at home now that Rahul's gone?
They all tease him, and Sunil throws in his own imitation of Rahul's now famous
stutter before the ending titles begin.
The End!
