After a few more exchanges involving vague answers on Sunil's part, we enter a large, empty apartment. Kiran asks Sunil what's going on, so Sunil tells her that this is to be their home when they get married. Kiran's eyes boggle, and she does the Juhi Chawla Dance of Joy. She runs over and jumps onto Sunil's back, leading us to the next musical number, "Darwaza Band Karlo."

This song features a few scenes of Kiran imagining various designs for each of the rooms before taking a turn for the surreal. In one part, she runs towards some patio doors and bursts through to the flowering fields of Switzerland where Sunil rises from the grasslands to play a flute.

I once had a very similar dream, but I was on cough syrup and had a fever of 103 degrees.

Well it's time to bring things down a bit. We see Kiran being dropped off at her brother's place in the dark. She tries to go right inside, but Sunil tugs her arm and generally gets a little flirty. Kiran plays nice but shuts him down before he can get away with too much. She sends him off and heads over to the door, singing a playful little tune of the phrase "I love you!" over and over again (in English!) as she fumbles for her keys.

After a few moments of struggling with her purse in the dark, a brilliant spotlight shines on her face, accompanied by a loud "TWANG!" on the soundtrack to let us know this kind of thing doesn't normally happen to Kiran. She puts her hand up to shield her eyes from the light, and asks who is there. We can barely see in the darkness behind the flashlight that it's Rahul, but he doesn't answer her question.

Kiran quickly becomes irritated and tells the flashlight operator that she's in no mood for this nonsense, and that they need to identify themselves. After a few tense seconds, we hear the soon-to-be tiresome reply: "I love you, K-k-k-k-kiran." Kiran flips out at this response and starts frantically ringing the doorbell and pounding on the door for her brother to come and open up. A few seconds later the lights inside the house flip on and the flashlight switches off. When the door is opened, Rahul is nowhere to be found. Kiran tries to explain that her secret admirer was out here, but they don't know what she's talking about. Vijay spouts a lot of cricket terms here, much to the amusement of... well no one in particular. With the immediate threat eliminated, they all go inside.

Upstairs in Kiran's room, we see her trying to sleep. She is stirred by the sounds of a harmonica playing outside of her window, but she lies back down without finding the source of the music. Not long afterwards, her phone rings. When she picks it up, she hears "I love you, K-k-k-k-kiran" a few times before she hangs up. There's nothing more to be accomplished this night, so let's head on into the next day.

We see Poonam and Vijay sitting down to breakfast. We learn that a bundle of photos came in the morning mail, and they're all of Kiran. They call her over so she can see them. Seems perfectly innocent, no? Well it just so happens these pictures are from when she was in school on the day the mysterious singer was performing for her. She's confused, because she didn't know that her picture was being taken that day. Vijay makes the assumption that someone took her picture to show them to their mother. (What? That's a perfectly normal assumption to make. Isn't it?)

As luck (or the script) would have it, we cut to Rahul's room where he's on the phone to his mother. He describes Kiran to her, and goes on and on about how beautiful she is. As this is going on, we get a little look into Rahul's obsession. He's got slide projectors going in his room, where they are putting huge images of Kiran up onto his bedroom walls. Capt. Mehra (yes, that's Rahul's dad and Sunil's CO) comes into the room, and Rahul cuts the power to the projectors. Capt. Mehra asks Rahul who he is speaking to, and Rahul happily replies that he's speaking to his mother. This causes a rapid zoom to Capt. Mehra's face and a shocking sound on the soundtrack.

We cut from this tense scene to a doctor's office. The Captain is speaking with the doctor about Rahul. The doctor doesn't see what the harm is in Rahul speaking to his mother. The Captain explains that ordinarily that would be fine, were it not for the fact that Rahul's mom died eighteen years ago. The doctor suddenly sees his point. He asks how she died, and we learn that it was in a car accident, and the Captain was the driver. The doctor asks him if Rahul seems to blame him for the death of his mother, but Capt. Mehra says he doesn't think so. He says Rahul spends most of his time lost in his own little world, and doesn't speak to many people. The doctor tells him that this means Rahul is seriously messed up in the head. To prove this point to the audience, we get a look at what Rahul's doing at home while Dad's out. He is spending time in his room, drawing lipstick onto the walls where Kiran's face is being projected, then dancing around the room singing the song from earlier in the movie.
