We cut from this awkward scene to a group of people in an elevator. Kiran is seen in the front of the group, close to the door. The elevator arrives at a stop, and a few people get out. We can now see that Rahul is also in the elevator, standing in the back. This goes on for a while, as the elevator climbs up the building. Finally there are only two people left in the lift - Kiran and Rahul. She doesn't turn to look behind her, and he takes advantage of this indifference to reach down and touch part of her clothing. He even goes to far as to lift the long sash up and smell it, touching the fabric to his face. He reaches out to touch her shoulder just as the elevator comes to another stop. The doors open and Sunil is standing on the other side. Luckily for Rahul, he's not facing the doors when they open. Rahul evades Sunil's attention by (I seriously can't believe they expected us to buy this) squatting down and hiding his face. There's no one else in the elevator, so I think it would look just as strange to see this one guy in the fetal position in the elevator. Sunil leads Kiran off to somewhere else in the building, leaving Rahul behind to sniff his hand and look after them.

That evening we see Kiran in bed. Her phone begins ringing, so she groggily answers it. She says Sunil's name, assuming it is him calling. Unfortunately, she hears "K-k-k-k-kiran!" Rahul tells her she really needs to stop going out with Sunil. We see Rahul in his room, behind some Venetian blinds. Kiran asks him who he is, but he doesn't give her a straight answer. He makes it known that he's in love with her, and leaves it at that. He tells her that Sunil doesn't deserve her, and is just trying to win her over with the gift of an apartment. He explains that he knows she won't be happy unless she's living in a very poetically described house.

Kiran is getting very agitated by this, and tells her mystery caller that she's going to do whatever she wants and see whomever she chooses, and he has no business telling her what to do. Rahul tells her that all he wants is for her to live the life she deserves, and that just so happens to be with him. Kiran tells him to shut up (in English!) and hangs up the phone. Rahul gets a little of the crazy-eye going, and the phone begins to ring in Kiran's room again. She lets it ring a few times without picking it up, and it eventually stops.

Unfortunately the other phones in the house begin to ring. It seems the house has a different number for each individual phone, and they're all going off at different times. This madness is brought to an end by Sunil arriving in her bedroom, asking her why she didn't answer the phone. I'd have thought that if he was close enough to come in and ask, why bother calling in the first place? Oh well. Kiran explains that she's home alone, and was afraid to answer the phone. Sunil explains that curing a ringing phone is actually pretty simple, and he takes it off the hook. He calms her down with the promise of some foolin' around since there's no one else at home.

The next morning, we see Poonam stating that she believes that Kiran and Sunil should get married without delay. She's positive that by doing so, these harassing calls will stop. (Of course! The logic is flawless!) This triggers another of Vijay's rants involving more cricket terms than I am able to reproduce here. The short version is: Vijay used to get lots of calls from girls before he got married, and now that he has, all of that has stopped. In the course of events, everyone laughs at him and both Poonam and Kiran score a couple of good insults on him. Vijay tells Sunil that he should go and extend his leave from the Navy so that they can get him married and settled.

We cut from the yard to the stern of a ship, where Sunil is staring out at the water while in full uniform. He hears some footsteps approaching him, and a voice calls out to ask him how he's doing, and addresses him by name. Rahul walks into the shot, and Sunil confesses that he doesn't know who he is speaking with.

Rahul tells Sunil his name, and says that he knows all about him. He explains that his father is Capt. Mehra, and he often speaks of Sunil. Sunil is pleased to meet Rahul, and asks him what he does. Rahul's answer is a bit vague, at best. He simply states that "he loves." Sunil asks him if this is a profession or a hobby, but Rahul treats the question seriously. He gets rather philosophical about how life without love is not a life truly lived. Sunil agrees with every word, and Rahul asks him if he's ever fallen in love. Sunil says that he has, and is actually getting married soon! Rahul offers his congratulations and goes home to talk to his dead mother on the phone about the upcoming nuptials.

Rahul seems a little conflicted about this. He says that Sunil is a good man, and that he is not an enemy. However, he doesn't see how he's going to marry Kiran, since K-k-k-k-k-kiran already belongs to Rahul! He thinks that Kiran has been persuaded into this, and doesn't understand what is happening. Rahul says that he's tried to explain it in loving terms, but now that she's not getting the point, he's going to have to use slightly more aggressive methods.
