Kunal suggests that they take Simran back to Tom's beach house, since it's somewhat out of the way, and a nice peaceful setting. Tom thinks this is an excellent suggestion and happily invites them all to stay as long as they need to. To illustrate the therapeutic effects this house has, we watch them settle in to the tune of "O Meri Jaana," with the rest of the cast trying to cheer Simran up.

The little escape seems to be helping her mood, since by the end of the song she's doing millisecond microkisses with Sameer and smiling slightly. We rejoin the group as they have some coffee by the fire. Their discussion is interrupted by Tom, who comes to tell them that Inspector Khanna has called, and would like to see Sameer and Kunal at the police station. When they ask what's the matter, Tom only says that he has learned something about the Ajit Khurana case that he wants to go over with them.
As the guys drive through the streets, their cool vertical door car stalls out. I'd like to offer a little money to the screenwriter to come up with a different plot device. We've had three broken-down cars so far this film. As they look under the hood, we get a shot from an alternate point of view from some distance away, and is kind of hiding behind a pole. The guys decide that they can't figure out what is wrong with it, and that they'll need a mechanic. Sameer sends Kunal out to get some help while he stays with the car.
We
go back to Tom's house and see Simran is sleeping. Kajal has a lawn chair set up
in the room, and is dozing lightly. She is awakened and notices a familiar
silhouette moving against the windows of the room, and calls out to see who it
is. We can see that it is Ajit again, but Kajal goes out to investigate. As she
searches, she sees dark shapes moving around, but can't make out who it is.
The DVD menu classifies this sequence as the song "Aas Paas," but it's more of a montage than the usual song and dance that we're used to. I will add that this scene is very flattering to Divya Palat, as she looks very pretty in her red dress in the candlelight. I thought this was a nice gesture for her since most of the time she's lumped in with Aditi.
After
a few minutes of wandering about the place, Kajal is grabbed from behind and
shouts for Simran. Simran sits up in bed and runs downstairs, but Kajal isn't in
the room anymore. Simran tiptoes her way around the expansive house, stopping
occasionally for spooky birds and other false scares. She finally makes her way
to a room that should look familiar to the audience if they can remember back
that far - it's a dark room filled with mannequins.
Simran makes her way through the room, looking more nervous and agitated as she goes. She passes by a familiar figure who remains motionless until she passes. Ajit turns to watch her pass, then moves towards her with his rake.
We get another false scare as Simran sees herself in a mirror, and the image of Ajit leaps up next to her. When she turns, he's gone! She makes one more sweep of the room, and finds herself face to face with Ajit. Having fooled around long enough, Ajit decides it's time to end this thing. He begins moving towards Simran, brandishing his rake. Simran makes her way (slowly and backwards, I might add) through the room as Ajit slashes towards her, slaughtering countless innocent mannequins along the way. He does manage to land two light scratches on her cheek in the rampage.
Simran
manages to get away for a moment, and finds the world's biggest air duct to
crawl into. Ajit sees her crawling through it, and finds a sharp metal rod
nearby to poke through the vent at her. This goes on for some time until Simran
pops out of the other end of the vent and hides behind some wicker furniture.
We cut back to Sameer and his car problems. As he stands in the street waiting for Kunal to come back, who should happen to drive by but Inspector Khanna. He seems surprised to find Sameer there, and asks him what he's doing here so late. Sameer looks puzzled and tells Khanna that he was on his way to meet with him since he called. Khanna doesn't know what he's talking about, and says that he never called Tom's place for a meeting. Sameer has a flash of realization, and looks shocked.
Back at the beach house Simran has inexplicably left her hiding spot and is running full speed through the mannequin menagerie and once again bumps into Ajit. They begin to struggle as we see Sameer and Khanna enter the house.
