As you should all know by now, there's only one way to party in a Bollywood movie - it's time to sing! We all join them as they go out to the dance club to regale us with "Dilbar Mera." Also, thanks to Ms. Govitrikar, I've now see someone miss a lip synch on the word "Oooooooooooooooooooh." I didn't think that could be done.

During the song we see a couple of quick cuts over to a stern looking man who is drinking heavily and watching our four characters closely. This is Mr. Vikram, the servant for Uncle Rajan. He doesn't like the looks of the two young men who are putting the moves on Simran and Kajal, so he goes home to tattle.

Rajan doesn't have a problem with them though, and declares them to be "decent boys." He tells Vikram to pay more attention to his duties and less to the family's personal lives. At this point, the kids return home. Rajan makes some introductions for Vikram then sends him on his way. Sameer tells Rajan that he has come to ask Rajan's permission to enter Simran in the upcoming "Black Beauty Contest" pageant thing that's coming up soon. If she were to win here, then she would qualify for the next tier of competition, leading to greatness of some sort. Rajan is all for it, and heartily gives his blessing. Kunal tells them that before they can sign her up, they need to have a new photo shoot for her entry form. They are heading up to Kunal's uncle's place on the beach to get those taken care of.

Tom is pleased to see his nephew again, and is introduced to the rest of the gang. After lots of "oh it's so good to see you's" we head out to the beach to get the pictures taken. Now, as I've said Simran is definitely a nice looking woman. These shots are quite flattering, but it is hilarious to hear Sameer's direction of her. She's just standing there smiling, and occasionally tilting her head. However Sameer is acting like she's defining "pi" or achieving some other fantastic feat. "Brilliant! We're almost there! Amazing!" Think of the photo sessions in any of the Austin Powers movies, and you've got this scene. Unfortunately, they weren't trying to be funny in this movie. I also thought it to be humorous that he often tells her to "stay there! Hold it! Hold it!" while she continues to change her pose and basically do anything but "hold it." Ah well. Of course the shots turn out great, and all looks to be going smoothly. That means it is time to introduce our main plot, about thirty minutes into the film.

Back in town we see another very beautiful woman come sashaying into Sameer's office. Kunal introduces Ms. Tanya Khurana, this year's up and coming new face in the modeling world. Tanya is interested in entering the Black Beauty contest as well, and has come to our friends to get her photo shoot done for her entry. Afterwards, she bumps into Simran and Kajal on her way out of the office. They learn that they are both planning to compete in the same contest, which seems to put Tanya ill at ease.

We have a jump cut to a close-up of white powder being sprinkled out of a plastic bag onto a glass surface. We have the first of several Ventriloquist Items as a nose comes in to apparently sniff up the powder. We hear the sounds of someone sniffing hard, but strangely the powder goes nowhere. This seems to be good enough for the sniffer, as he sits up looking appropriately wasted.

We see a door being opened for Tanya, and she is told by the housekeeper that she's late for dinner. She tells him to have her brother go ahead and eat without her, as she's lost her appetite. The sniffer comes downstairs to greet her, and we learn that this is her brother Ajit. He asks her how her photo shoot went, but she tells him that it didn't happen. When he asks why not, she tells him that she's not participating in the contest since Simran is. He asks who the heck is Simran, and she explains that they were in college together. Every contest she was in with Simran, she ended up losing to her. She doesn't even want to try this time since she knows what's going to happen. Ajit responds with a less than macho flip of his hair.

We cut to Simran's house where she's parading around wearing only a towel. The phone rings so she goes to pick it up. Ajit is on the line, and he offers her a piece of advice. She has a simple choice to make about her future. If she enters the beauty contest, he's going to kill her. He tells her to think it over calmly, and give him her answer when he calls back.
