We cut from the heart-pounding action in the auction and end up at the gates of Hell. That is to say, the next musical number. There's a lot going on in this song and all of it is terrifying. It's the title track to the movie, "I Am A Disco Dancer," a phrase that comprises a good 80% of the lyrics. We start off with a freeze-frame of a woman screaming, "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!" I'm not sure why this is necessary, but I must assume the plot would fall apart without it. This leads us shortly to the Tippy-Toe Dance, as well as several children in the audience, one blowing a whistle, one flicking a man's bald head to produce an unlikely "ping" sound, and a small girl with a hip spasm.

Jimmy's outfit in this song also includes one odd looking headband. I think it's meant to have wings, but instead it just looks like... well it didn't make it. In the midst of all of the fierce disco rhythms, don't miss the homage to the "Do-Re-Mi" song from The Sound of Music, only spelling out DISCO for those of us that were having trouble. In case you were wondering, here's the meaning (as written in the subtitles):

Glad we have that all cleared up. Did I mention this song is eight minutes long? I'm not exaggerating.

Anyway, once we are finally able to wrench ourselves away from the spectacle of Jimmy's constantly twitching pelvis, we move on with the story. We see P. N. arriving at home. He sees Nicky there in a state of panic. He asks her why she's called him home early, and she explains that she can't bear to see Sam in the state he is in. We look over to see Sam injecting himself with what I assume is his illicit drug of choice. He then zonks out on the bed as Nicky and P. N. hurry over.

Oberoi tells him that he shouldn't do these things, and that he will set everything back to normal. Sam is a little less optimistic, and says that all of his father's power, money, and influence can't help him now. At this point Sam takes a header down the steps near his bed, and lands in a heap. P. N. tells him that he won't allow Sam to be hurt, even if he has to kill Jimmy.

We cut to a meeting with International Hit Man (or Bob, if you prefer). Bob knows that Jimmy's got a performance coming up, and people will ask that he play the electric guitar. Just prior to this, Bob will have someone connect the instrument to a power line with 5000 volts. This should be enough to fry Jimmy, thinks Bob. He then asks in English how P. N. likes his plan. P. N. is all for it, but they both notice a door squeaking nearby. It seems they've got an eavesdropper!

They throw open the door to find Nicky standing there looking sheepish. She says hello, the runs away. Bob asks who that was, but P. N. dismisses her as a friend of Sam's, and they do not give chase.

We cut to Jimmy's place where he and Rita are getting ready to go to the performance. They try to talk Mom into coming, but she wants to stay home to perform some special prayers. The kids go on without her. Over at the theater, we see the crowd has already gathered. As they make their way through the bustling throng of fans, we cut back to the house to see Mom getting her gear together for her ceremony. She is interrupted by the phone, and takes the call. It's Nicky, warning Mom of the plot to whack Jimmy at the show. Mom drops the phone and races for the door. On the other end, we see that Nicky has company. Bob holds up his hand, then rests it gently on Nicky's face. This somehow kills her. Man, he's good!

We begin cutting back and forth from Jimmy and Rita at the show giving a speech to the crowd and Mom racing there in a taxi. The crowd begins an awkward, out-of-synch group clap to get Jimmy to play a song, and the tension is nearly insurmountable. As Jimmy approaches the guitar, a man throws a switch on a breaker box causing two of the strings to glow like a toaster's heating elements.

Mom gets there just in time, and instead of doing something smart, like shouting "don't touch the guitar!" she decides to grab it herself. This of course electrocutes her in a dazzling display of really, really dumb looking special effects. Jimmy looks on in horror, and we have another freeze-frame on his face. The image splits into several pieces, and we see his mom's funeral pyre burning in the cracks.

Some time later, we see David Brown entering Jimmy's home. He sees Jimmy sitting alone on the couch, looking pretty despondent. It turns out he hasn't been sleeping, and is asking himself repeatedly why his mother died the death that was meant for him. David tries to bring him around by telling him that mothers often sacrifice themselves for their children. He also asks Jimmy if he thinks she'd be happy to know that all he's done since his life was saved was sit on the couch and cry.

Jimmy asks what he's supposed to do instead. David tells him that he should spread his music around a bit. Rita seems to think he needs a ride in the car, so that's what we cut to next!
