David
keeps his composure, and tells the room that in the world of music, Sam will be
forgotten in a matter of days. Sam comes back with a great maniacal rant: "Nooo!
I'm great! I'm still great! GREEEAT! I will sing... FOREVAH!
FOREVAAAH!" (Yes, that's really how he emphasizes this.) Once he's
done screaming, he twitches and drops the bottle of wine he was trying to pour
from. He gives David and Nicky a look that clearly says, "I meant to do that."
He tosses his glass after the bottle, and dramatically stalks over to the bar to
get another bottle of hootch.
David turns to his daughter and says that she used to have a life. He tells her not to throw away her life on this guy, and get with Jimmy the Winner. He throws a magazine with Jimmy on the cover onto the coffee table and says goodbye. Sam comes over and stares at the magazine for a bit, then throws his new drink onto Jimmy's picture.
We cut to Jimmy standing near his car. He hears a guitar being fiddled with, and looks over to see his old band from his wedding performance days. He joins them and they have a happy reunion. Jimmy tries to give them all some money, but they say that they just want to have a drink with their old friend. They head off to the old watering hole they used to visit to relive the good old days.
This
has some downsides as well as advantages. After the men are all good and loaded,
they go walking along the streets. They encounter the area where Jimmy and his
mother were hounded by the crowds, calling them thieves. Jimmy remembers, and
starts shouting at the darkened houses that he isn't a thief, and neither is his
mother.
The people in the houses start waking up at the noise Jimmy is causing. It isn't long before they recognize him. Jimmy tells them all how he was treated as a child, and how the people of this neighborhood falsely labeled him. The people are now a lot more forgiving, and tell Jimmy that they know he's not a bad man, and his mother didn't do anything wrong. One of the older members of the crowd tells Jimmy that things have changed in the neighborhood, and they aren't looking good. Oberoi is planning to evict everyone tomorrow and take over the place. Jimmy looks drunkenly thoughtful (it's possible, he's doing it right now), and seems to have a plan.
We
cut to Oberoi as he discusses things with Vasco. Oberoi is raising the stakes,
and wants Jimmy dead. He's contacted Vasco to get a good killer on the job.
Vasco runs down the resume of a fierce one, and we get to see the person in
question. Let's just say, I wasn't exactly intimidated. International Hit-Man
(as the credits call him) is wearing a skin-tight black silk outfit with some
rockin' DEVO sunglasses. He turns to the camera and walks towards us. He doesn't
stop until his crotch hits the camera, which I will admit did make me want to
die.
We cut to a meeting with Oberoi and his business guys. We hear some talk about money, then they get to the point about the slums not being vacated. Oberoi becomes angry and tells them they've got three weeks to clear the place out or else!
We cut to the slums where a bit of a riot has broken out. The older man from the previous night is frantically trying to calm everyone down and bring some order to the scene, but it's out of control. He prays for help, and in walks Jimmy. He commands everyone to stop what they're doing, and oddly enough they do. Unfortunately the mob is being led by IHM, and he tells his men to resume the violence and burn the place down. Jimmy tells him that's not going to happen, and a fight between the two of them gets underway!
Things
break down to a brawl between Jimmy and all of the goons directly under IHM's
control. Jimmy easily dispatches all of them, frustrating IHM to no end. IHM
finally gets back into the fight personally, and trades blows with Jimmy for a
bit before Jimmy traps him in a headlock.
Jimmy questions IHM on who sent them there to terrorize the neighborhood. After a little persuasion, IHM coughs up Oberoi's name. Jimmy releases IHM and tells him to go back to his boss, and let him know that Jimmy's no longer a little kid that can be pushed around. IHM takes off in a hurry, leaving the neighbors to thank Jimmy profusely.
We cut to the Oberoi's house where we see Rita reclining on a sofa and looking at a magazine. P.N. walks in and tells her to get ready for an important party at the Mayor's place. Rita whines for a while, but eventually agrees to go. A quick cut to Jimmy's place shows him taking a call that is inviting him to the same gathering. Things are likely to get a bit complicated!
