As she is being manhandled, she notices the bloodstains on the sink and floor. She makes a "Hmmmm... wonder what that's all about" face, but the scene ends before anything else is said.

It's a rainy night as a police car arrives at Naina's house. The Assistant Commissioner of Police hops out and they do some cop dialog. As they are walking towards the house we see Naina still sitting outside. She's drenched but doesn't seem to notice that it's raining. One of the cops tells the inspector who she is, and that she's been sitting outside all night. The ACP takes an umbrella and heads over to talk to her.

He tells her that her sister and mother need her inside, but Naina isn't quite ready to face reality yet. She tells them that she was disconnected from Sonia's call earlier, and that she is waiting for her to call back. The cops give each other a "Uh oh" look. Inside, Mom, Diya and some folks we haven't met yet are praying over Sonia's body. The ACP manages to get Naina to stand up and head towards the house. However, the closer they get the more resistance Naina puts up. When she finally faces the scene she whips herself around and keeps her back to the body while Mom sobs and clutches Diya.

This is a heart-rending scene. With the singing, sobbing, and wailing going on it's kind of overwhelming. Add to that the genuinely traumatized look on Naina's face, and you've got a really tense scene.

The next day the police are out with dogs tracking the scent. I don't know much about how accurate a dog's nose is, but they are going through major city streets with lots of people and traffic. In addition, they go for a long time. It looks like at least several miles. I'm not sure this would work, but again - I'm not an expert.

Anyway, the short version is they end up at the hospital where Sunanda works. Another point I was a little confused about is that it looks like this is where she lives as well as works. Kind of like the hospital has a dorm or something. We see Gokul asleep on a cot in her room when the dogs start pounding on the door.

He lurches awake and darts around the room in a panic. He somehow gets out of the room and onto the roof of the building. He runs along the roof and jumps down into an alley. As he's making his escape, he passes Sunanda. She tries to talk to him as he zooms past, but he's not in the stopping mood. She again looks at him like "Hmmmm... wonder what that's all about," and the scene ends.

Inside the hospital one of the cops we see a lot is reporting to the ACP on the phone. He says that they were unable to catch him there, but he had definitely been there recently.

Back at the house there is a wake in progress. Over the following scenes, the song "Chitthi Na Koi Sandesh" plays. Naina is seated in front of a small shrine with Sonia's picture on it. Little Diya sees that Naina is on the verge of collapsing again and comes over to comfort her.

Naina goes upstairs to lie down. Being on the giant bed all alone just makes it worse, and she starts crying again while holding Sonia's pillow. She begins imagining Sonia sneaking up on her and jumping on the bed. Naina sits up excitedly, only to be disappointed when Sonia's not really there.

The other family members have their own moments of regret. Mom sets one too many table settings for dinner. Kabir comes home from work to the huge house they bought, and remembers some of the fun times they had there. Naina tries to go to class, only to see Sonia's empty desk next to her. She can't stand it, and runs out of the school.

When the music is over, we're at the breakfast table with Mom, Naina, and an as yet unnamed Aunt. They're startled when the Diya and her cousin Vicky (he's a boy) start hollering as kids like to do. Aunt Somebody calls Vicky to the table to eat and stop foolin' around. Aunt Somebody is inviting Naina to come and stay with her in another town for a while until she starts to feel better. Naina just walks away from the table without saying anything.

Aunt Somebody gets frustrated and tells Naina to forget Sonia. She says that the news of this event will quickly fade from the public's eye and then no one will care. She should get over it as quickly as she can and move on. I'll admit, I think this is pretty mean for her to say. I've luckily never had the experience of losing a sibling - let alone a twin! - but I can imagine it's devastating. The time frame is sketchy here, but it can't be more than a couple of days later. To tell her to snap out of it so soon seems pretty unreasonable and unsympathetic.

Naina reacts appropriately. She asks how can they even think of forgetting Sonia? They don't even know who was responsible for her death!
