Naina
runs through the market bumping into people and generally causing a ruckus. She
finally takes herself out by hitting a pretty big guy and falling to her knees.
Hey! It's Suraj!
She apologizes to him and starts picking up the bags she knocked out of his hands. He starts shouting what sounds to me like "Peem!" Naina continues to apologize profusely as he continues to shout.
We see a young boy running through the market carrying lots of items. He announces to Suraj that he's there and is told to "take out the gun." (!!) This is Bhim, Suraj's sidekick. Bhim wants to know why he needs the gun. Suraj says it is so he might shoot Bhim!
He asks Bhim where he's been. Bhim's been out buying bottle-gourds. While he's having this conversation, Bhim moves to stand behind Naina who is still half-kneeling, half-squatting on the ground. Suraj chastises Bhim for leaving him alone for so long. He explains that people run into him and feel embarrassed, and Bhim's supposed to help stop that from happening. Suraj calms down and they start walking off.
Naina asks if she can walk with them for a while until she reaches safety. They go to get her bike, but the wheel has been bent out of shape. She starts to worry that Mom will figure out what she's been up to, and Suraj asks what kind of trouble she's in. She doesn't want to talk about it, but they invite her to his house where they can sort things out.
Some
time passes while she's apparently been telling Suraj the backstory. He tells
her that she has great strength to continue to try and stop Gokul despite her
fears. She asks him why he's being so kind to her, and Suraj spends a little
time telling his philosophy about how people should deal with what they have and
not ask "why" since no one really knows why so many things happen. It's a little
abstract, and I'm paraphrasing here. It's not a bad little thought though. Suraj
has Bhim call a cab to take Naina home. He tells her that if she ever needs his
help to come to the Army hall in the evenings.
Naina reaches home and overhears her mother on the phone inside. She's been getting calls all night where the person on the other end doesn't say anything. She goes upstairs now that Naina is home and says to ignore the phone if it's going to do that all night. It starts to ring again soon after, and Naina decides to pick it up.
Gokul speaks this time. He tells her that he lusts after girls, and since she interrupted him today he went "hungry." He says that he holds no personal enmity towards her or her family. The only reason he even struck Sonia was because he was "hungry" and she came his way. He warns her not to do it again though, or else he'll make her suffer. She cuts him off mid-sentence and tells him that she won't be afraid of him no matter what he does. She hangs up on him and looks surprised at herself. She remembers what Suraj said to her, and looks determined.
Over at the Army club, Bhim is helping a young man tie some small bells to his wrist. They talk a bit about an upcoming boxing fight where he is going to fight Suraj. This struck me as a little ... well cruel I guess. A bare-knuckle boxing match with a blind guy? The little bells are to tell Suraj where his opponent is, but still this seems like a mean prank. The Major as they like to call Suraj has a bit of a reputation of winning these matches and does pretty well on winning the bets.
The fight goes for a while. We get to see how Suraj can tell pretty well where the punches are coming from, and he eventually wins the fight. What's the best way to celebrate a victory? You guessed it! Time to sing.
The name of this song is "Tuna Tuna." To me, that would suggest a song about a fish. Without subtitles, it's tough to tell otherwise. Suraj leads the song and the rest of the patrons join in.

During the song, Naina arrives to talk to Suraj. Bhim notices her in the doorway and alerts Suraj. She listens to the song for a while, then decides not to stay. She writes a note and calls Bhim over to deliver it. He reads the note to Suraj. It basically thanks him for what he said to her, and for the strength she drew from it. Suraj gets a dopey smile on his face and puts his arm around Bhim.
The
next day we find Gokul at work. Rupert the Cop comes over to him and asks him to
come along quietly to the police station. It seems there have been some new
charges brought against him that he needs to answer to.
Naina is at the station where they are accusing Gokul of murdering his wife. He naturally objects to this charge. They bring in Mary, the nurse that worked with Sunanda. She tells the police that she's not been to work in days, and several of her checks have come back uncashed. Naina claims that this is because she's dead, and that Gokul did it.
I'll admit, this accusation seems a little flimsy to me.
