Suraj merrily speeds to his favorite hangout spot with Raghu. He sees his old
friend sitting with his back to the alleyway, and as such does not notice the
case of stabbed guts that Raghu has come down with. Suraj begins rambling on
about how much he loves Sapna, etc. Not to trivialize this, but really we've
heard it all before! Raghu on the other hand is putting up a remarkably stoic
attitude, encouraging Suraj through clenched teeth that this is all great.
They
go on for a moment or two until Raghu's strength gives out and he keels over.
Suraj finally notices that something is wrong, and asks Raghu who did this to
him. Raghu is able to squeak out a warning about the Oberoi's garage, then we
cut away from this tense scene.
Over at the Oberoi's house, we have what I like to call an Irony Prep. Sapna is seen standing in her open window, with a light breeze blowing her hair. She smiles, and tells Rama that everything is going to be okay. She's sure of it, because Suraj will take care of everything.
This
leads us to a jump cut to the garage, where Suraj is busy "taking care of
everything." This loosely translates to smashing his Jeep through the glass
doors of the garage, then hopping out and beating the daylights out of everyone
he sees. Well, sort of. As you can see, Sunny Deol has been teaching his brother
how to do all of his movie fighting. (sigh)
Oh,
I neglected to mention something. You remember Raghu? The one who has been
stabbed in the abdomen and was busy bleeding out a few moments ago? Right, you
remember. Being the good friend that he is, Suraj didn't bother to take Raghu to
the hospital for emergency surgery. Instead he's brought him along (in the Jeep
that was smashed through the sheets of glass) so that he might have revenge on
the person who did the stabbing. Suraj grabs each of the guys he's fighting and
squishes their faces against the window so that Raghu can identify the man
they're looking for.
This fight goes on for some time, and generally accomplishes little. Raghu finally dies in the front seat of the Jeep, and Suraj has a big scene of wailing lament. He tells Raghu that he was right - Suraj's love would eventually kill Raghu. Actually, to be more specific, I'd say it was the lack of medical treatment that killed him. So, we'll call it as Suraj's stupidity that killed Raghu.
We haven't had nearly enough irony yet, so we'll go back to Sapna for another helping. She is still talking to Rama about how wonderful Suraj is. She tells Rama that when she looks into his eyes, she sees sincerity and love. We then jump cut to Suraj who is staring directly into the camera in a homicidal rage. He shrieks and leaps out of the Jeep after the guy who stabbed Raghu, who is beginning to stir after his first beating. Suraj picks up a pistol that is helpfully lying on the ground and runs towards Mr. Stabby. Stabby runs out of the garage towards the gate leading out of the yard. Suraj follows in hot pursuit with the Action Theme from Dushmani playing. This consists of a blaring brass section and several deep male voices chanting "Zoom zoom!"
The
men find themselves at the docks. The chase goes on for longer than it needs to,
but in a fun moment the guys chase each other through a passing marching band
(!). Suraj manages to pass Stabby and gets in front of him. He points the gun in
Stabby's face, and we cut back to Sapna for the final course of the Irony
Banquet. She tells Rama that Suraj will end this enmity between the families
once and for all! Cut back in time to see Suraj empty the gun into Stabby who
flips over a railing and dies in the water. Suraj has a moment of clarity as he
realizes what he's done, and screams out for Sapna over and over again. He
screams so loudly, an Intermission title card comes up and we all get a break
from the drama!
