Yes,
that's right - Suraj was faking his suicide, and made Sapna (the all-time one
and only love of his life) believe he was dead and she was alone. One can see
why she loves him so much. He climbs to his feet and begins laughing like an
idiot. He walks a few steps away from her and surveys the countryside, oblivious
to the fact that Sapna is angrily marching away from him down the hill. He calls
after her to wait, but she yells back (in English!) that she hates him. He calls
after her to tell her that he loves her, and quickly runs down after her.
We see him searching around a bus stop for her, as the strains of the next musical number begin to plink away on the soundtrack. This is "Kabhi Haste Hain," and mostly consists of Suraj trying to win Sapna back over. Personally, I think once you fake your own death and convince your loved ones that they're doomed to a life without you, there's not much room for redemption. However, Sapna has a softer heart than I do apparently, and they're happily back in love by the end of the song.

We see them traveling with a large group of people for a while, eventually ending up at a small village. Meanwhile, the two big gangs are driving aimlessly around the countryside searching for the lost couple. The two caravans remarkably end up approaching each other on the same road, and all of the hoodlums on both sides lean out of their vehicles and train their weapons on the other group.
Jai
hops out of his Jeep and confidently swaggers over to meet Oberoi, who is doing
a might fine swagger of his own. They draw their guns and hold them casually,
sizing each other up. Oberoi breaks the awkward silence by telling Jai to
prepare to shed tears over his brother's corpse. Jai is nonplussed by this
threat, and says that Oberoi must be feeling pretty uneasy right now, what with
his sister being all alone with Suraj. After all, Oberoi knows what it is like
to sneak off with a woman!
Oberoi takes offense at this comment, and points his gun in Jai's face. Jai still isn't looking too worried, and says that Suraj ran off with his love. He had nothing malicious in mind. He then delivers his catch phrase (everyone!), "don't you have anything to do?" then asks Oberoi to lower his gun. Jai tells Oberoi to go ahead and look for Sapna, but Oberoi isn't feeling as generous as Jai is. He tells Jai that if he does find Suraj, he's going to kill him and have his remains shipped to Jai's house. He then climbs back into his Jeep and the Oberoi posse pulls out.
We
cut to the small village as Suraj and Sapna tentatively look around. They are
noticed by the citizens of the little town, and are quickly stared at and called
out to. Suraj asks them what the name of this village is, and they are told it
is Chandanpur. Suraj reacts with astonishment, as he realizes that this is the
little town where he and his brother were born. He relays this news to Sapna,
who then asks where his house is. Suraj realizes that he's not certain, but he
thinks back to his childhood memories and begins walking the streets.
He remembers a game he and Jai used to play where he'd be led around wearing a blindfold, so he ties one on and begins walking around with cautious steps. As he moves through the lanes and bumping into things, he continually flashes back to moments of his youth, and is able to figure out where his old house is located. He stops in front of a nice looking house, and tells Sapna that this is the place. He nervously walks up to the door and knocks.
