The door is promptly answered by a young man. He asks Suraj who he is, but before Suraj can tell him they are interrupted by an elderly woman who is also keen to find out who is at the door. The young man says that there is an unknown traveler dropping in (seriously!), then offers Suraj some water. Suraj is amazed to see the older woman, and he begins walking slowly into the room towards her. She asks the young man once again who this person is, and Suraj asks her if she recognizes him. She says that she doesn't, so Suraj helps her out. He says he is Suraj, Jai's younger brother. This jars a memory for her, and she is overjoyed to see a long-lost relative coming back to see her. It turns out that this is Suraj's aunt, and a tearful reunion is shared by all. They notice that Sapna is still standing outside near the door, respectfully keeping her distance as the family fusses over Suraj. With good-natured teasing they all assume that this is Suraj's wife, and bring her inside.

Once things have settled down a little, they get around to welcoming Sapna as she deserves - with a song! We see her being serenaded by many of the women of the house with the song "Bunno Teri Aankhein." As they sing, we see Sapna being taken through some of the pre-wedding rituals, including the application of turmeric paste, getting a bath, and adorning her with ceremonial jewelry. The song ends up with the two of them sitting in the center of the dancing, having finalized their engagement. It looks like things are finally settling down for our heroes.

The following day we see the happy couple being integrated into the village. Suraj is trying to learn how to get an ox to plow a small patch of earth, but isn't having much luck with it. The group of men that are meant to be teaching him seem to be quite content to stand aside and laugh as he wrestles with the plow. One of the young boys points out that Sapna is nearby, learning to balance a large clay jug on her head. This takes us to the other fine tradition of shooting the jug with a slingshot, drenching Sapna in the process. For whatever reason, this upsets the women and they go chasing after Suraj and his gang. That evening, we see Sapna getting a lesson on some interesting cooking techniques.

Life seems to be pretty good here in the small town. Let's see if we can't screw that up... ah here we go! The next day we see Suraj and Sapna going about their business in the town square, then head off for home. As they pass through the doorway, they see that Jai has come to town in the hopes of finding Suraj. Jai stands up as they come in, but Suraj and Sapna look none too pleased that trouble has followed them from the big city.

The rest of the family seems blissfully unaware of the tension that has planted itself firmly in the middle of the room. Suraj doesn't budge from the doorway, and Sapna stays right beside him. Aunt Nameless (she isn't addressed by name in the subtitles) tells Sapna to come and show her respects, so she slowly crosses the room to touch Jai's feet. Aunt Nameless then says that Sapna should show off her newly acquired cooking skills as the ladies giggle.

The women all head off to another room while Jai keeps watching Suraj. Suraj still hasn't moved into the house. Jai asks him why he's keeping his distance, and asks Suraj for a hug. He of course follows that up with his golden nugget, "Don't you have anything to do?" (sigh) As they sort of hug, Jai murmurs that he needs to speak with Suraj outside for a moment.

They walk through the streets of the town, and Suraj asks where they're going. Jai tells him that he's taking Suraj back to the city, and he has a squad of men to safely escort Sapna back home. Suraj tries for the sentimental approach in dealing with Jai, and asks him if he remembers the time they were given toy guns to play with, and Suraj broke his. Jai says he remembers, so Suraj asks him to break his real gun now.

Jai explains that things are different now, and he can't do that. Suraj tells him he isn't interested in keeping up with the gangs anymore, and states defiantly that he is now living here with Sapna. Jai asks if he's seriously going to take up a life with his enemy's sister. Suraj tells him that all of that is between Jai and Oberoi, and has nothing to do with him. By this time, voices are raised and they are attracting the attention of the other people in the street. They begin gathering around and taking an interest in the conversation. The confrontation begins to escalate. Jai becomes angry at all the people gawking at them and asks them if they have anything to do (sigh). The rest of the family comes out of the house and notices that things are being to get a little ugly in the town square.

Aunt Nameless and the rest of the family come over to Jai and Suraj and tell them to knock it off. They are creating a scene and are tarnishing the family name by causing such a disturbance. They herd the brothers back to the house to try and talk about this rationally.
