As the song is winding down, the narrative picks up again. Veer comes into Sahil's room and sees he is awake. Sahil gestures for Veer to be quiet since Naina is sleeping in a chair next to the bed. Veer takes Sahil outside to have some fresh air. They sit next to a pretty impressive garden and have a meaningful and very heavy conversation.

Sahil tells Veer that he knows he has cancer, and that he isn't going to live much longer (I did say this was heavy, did I not?). Veer tells him not to talk that way, but Sahil carries on. He says that his problem isn't the cancer, it's that every time Naina looks at him she starts to cry and he can't stop her. He asks that whatever happens to him, that Veer take care of her. Veer gives his son a look of pride mixed with sadness, then Naina comes out to see them. They lighten the mood a little with a joke from Sahil, but as Naina hugs her son, she looks to Veer and tears well up in her eyes.

This is one of the moments that makes this movie a little surreal. Most of it is not good. The action is cheesy, the story gets lost in itself several times, and several scenes are just plain unpleasant. Here in the middle of it all is a serious, grave scene of a child coming to terms with his own mortality and trying to cheer up his parents. It's well acted, well written, and moving. What it's doing mired in the rest of this movie is beyond me.

Back to Balli and his pals. They pull into a darkened warehouse with the requisite flaming barrels and debris strewn about. Lachhu and Tara ask what they're doing there. Balli tells them that he has some business to attend to, and goes inside. Here we meet Moosa, who is some kind of underground fighting championship organizer. This place is his secret arena where rough types can come fight for money.

They all welcome Balli back into the group. Balli is here to get his money that Moosa was holding for him while he was in jail. Moosa tells him that's fine, but he doesn't keep that kind of cash at the ring. They arrange for a pickup the next day instead.

We have a weird, long shot of the sun coming up, then it's back to Lachhu and Balli. They're driving to the pickup spot and planning what to do with the money they are about to get. Balli says he wants to come to America and is thinking of marrying Tara. Lachhu is okay with the travel plans, but they have a long "humorous" chat about why he shouldn't get married. I'll spare you the details.

They arrive at Moosa's place, but Lachhu doesn't want to go inside. After a little debate he says he will stay in the car and cover the entrance. He does this by putting in a tape and reclining his seat to take a nap.

Balli passes Ishaq on the steps up to Moosa's office, and they have a weird talk about it being Ishaq's birthday, and then compare testicles to elephant's teeth. I'm not making this up.

At the hospital, Veer gets a call from someone (?) and learns that Khan has planned a raid on Moosa's place that day, and plans to kill Balli. Odd to get such a specific tip, but we'll ignore that and move on.

Balli is early for his appointment. When asked why, he says that he knows the cops are coming to get him at the agreed upon time. They have a tense discussion about trust, then Balli says he was only kidding. There is an odd dialog about Moosa's toupee that he rarely wears, then a massive gunfight breaks out as the cops attack the building. Never mind that it's 1:30 and the cops were coming at 3. Not important!

The next few minutes are in slow motion as twenty or so cops with automatic weapons completely miss Balli every time despite being out in the open half the time. We do see some fun stunts though, including Balli rolling down an aisle in a desk chair, spinning the whole time and firing random shots at people he can't see.
