The family goes out to a video arcade and we see them all having a blast. Vintage video gamers will notice several classics here, including Virtua Fighter 2 and Gunblade. Once they've run out of quarters, they go outside and are snacking on the grass. That is, they're sitting on the grass and snacking, not... oh never mind. Naina and Veer get into a playful argument about Veer getting heavy, and aren't paying attention to Sahil. Sahil has spotted a puppy sitting in some bushes on the other side of a busy street, and mindlessly wanders over to check it out.

As the sound of honking horns fills the air, Veer notices that Sahil's about to get nailed by a car. He does a dramatic leap over the camera and snatches the oblivious Sahil out of harm's way. After depositing Sahil safely off to the side of the road, Veer chases after the car for a few yards before it gets away from him. Veer goes back over to check on Sahil who is being inspected by Naina. She chastises him for chasing after the car on a busy street and tells him that he can't be a cop all the time and risking himself.

As they are arguing, Sahil goes over to sit down and complains of being tired. This is done in such a way as to suggest something may be wrong with the boy, but Veer and Naina pack him up and head for home without a fuss.

At the house, Naina puts Sahil to bed. Not long after she leaves the room, Sahil is wracked with a violent coughing fit. He pulls the covers over his head, and we see a bloodstain form on the sheets. He sits up and covers his mouth with his hand as blood begins flowing through his fingers. Looking alarmed (justifiably so) he calls for his mother.

They race to the hospital and Sahil is wheeled away. Not long after, Veer and Naina are awaiting a report from the doctors. They receive word that Sahil will need to be transferred to a different ward. We see his bed being wheeled through some glass doors. As the camera pans down, we discover that he's been moved to the cancer treatment ward. Naina sits on a couch looking around at the other children that are there. As one hairless little boy is carted past in a wheelchair she stares at him in horror. Veer tries to console her, but it doesn't seem to help much. Eventually they are called into the doctor's office.

The doctor tells them that Sahil has leukemia, and clarifies that as being "blood cancer." Naina is shocked to hear that he has cancer, despite having been sitting in the Cancer Ward for a while and looking at other cancer patients. She insists that the tests must be wrong, and then even goes so far as to accuse the doctor of lying. Veer finally has to resort to shouting at her to get her to shut up.

The doctor tries to be sympathetic, but has more bad news. He tells them that Sahil has only about a month to live unless a bone marrow transplant can be performed. He claims that he can completely cure Sahil if this can be performed. He tells Veer that they need a compatible donor to carry out the procedure, but Sahil has a rare blood type (of course). In an odd turn of events, the responsibility to locate the donor somehow falls on Veer. I would have guessed that perhaps a nationwide or perhaps global community of cancer treatment professionals might have better odds of tracking down an acceptable donor, but then again, what do I know? I just fix computers. The doctor tells him that the odds are 1 in 100,000 that he'll find one, but he does wish him luck!

Cue a montage of Veer visiting blood banks, checking in with various hospitals and clinics, and making lots of phone calls.

That evening Naina and Veer are at home in bed. Naina muses about how it seems someone has put the evil eye on them. Veer tells her not to worry, and that the "happy days will come again." To illustrate the "happy days" he was referring to, they helpfully provide us with a musical number to make sure we get it.
