Vijay
is doing all kinds of fancy riding tricks while shooting the bottles with his
slingshot. However, no explanation for the disturbing billboard is offered.
After a few dozen bottles are shattered we begin to see that Vijay is being
watched by a lovely young lady. She is very impressed with his performance and
tells the stable boy (played by the... well "comedian" Johnny Lever) as such. He
replies that he's the most popular riding instructor at the ranch and all the
ladies want him to be their teacher. Vijay dismounts and comes over to the gate
where Sonia approaches him.
She begins to chat him up a bit about how he learned to do that and so forth.
Honestly parts of the conversation didn't make much sense. I'm hoping that was a
subtitle problem. After they make eyes
at
each other for a little bit she comes out and tells him that she's attracted to
Vijay. He is pleased to hear this, and begins to give her a flirty little slingshot
lesson. (I can honestly say I've never typed a sentence quite like that before.)
Vijay stands close behind her as he shows her how to line up a shot and pull on the strap to shoot. This is all watched closely by the stable boy as well as a giant bodyguard that was waiting in Sonia's car. He comes over to investigate why they need to snuggle up like that. Vijay asks Sonia who the big guy is and she explains that he's there to beat up anyone that gives Sonia a hard time. Vijay decides to have a little fun, so he quickly turns Sonia's head and gives her a (carefully hidden stage-style) kiss. This enrages the bodyguard who storms over to put a stop to this.
I
had a tough time deciding who to root for in this fight, since the bodyguard
starts off by throwing Johnny Lever to the ground. That's a big plus for me.
However Vijay manages to handle the fight with little difficulty. Among other
humiliations the bodyguard is thrown onto the horse backwards, paraded around
the show grounds, then is somewhat unrealistically kicked into the trunk of the
car via some quick "oh they won't notice" editing.
As Vijay sees Sonia off, they make more kissy faces at each other and Johnny's hair smokes. We see that Peston has come outside to see what all the ruckus is about, but since it's all over he instead sets up some exposition for us.
Vijay
has become the main supporter for the ranch, and Peston tells him that he is
indebted to him for all of his services. Vijay tells him that it is he that is
indebted, since Peston took care of him after his parents died. We learn that
Peston is responsible for almost all of Vijay's good fortune and education.
With that out of the way, it's time to go back to Ajay's part of the world. We see Saxena discussing Ajay's fighting prowess with someone that looks to be a promoter. They are interrupted by Sonia who comes out to the yard to show off her new slingshot skills. However, she misses the mug that her father is holding and instead smashes a light post. Saxena asks her what she's doing learning to shoot when she said she was going for riding lessons. She makes a cryptic comment about how sometimes what you intend to happen and what actually happens can be very different things.
