Anant tells her that she needs the security. He explains that Angre is a very dangerous man, and if he saw her he could and most likely would do something about her. Ashwin offers the idea that since she's going to Mumbai, and she needs security, why can't she come along with them? Shekhar is more than a little excited about the idea, and agrees emphatically with Ashwin for the first time ever.

Mahalaxmi doesn't seem to think that would be a benefit. She asks why they'd think she'd be any safer with them. After all, the terrorists were there for days and nothing happened. She called the police and told no one else anything about what happened, and all of the terrorists vanished. The camera does a slow zoom in on Anant, and we transition out of the scene.

We see Naidu on the phone with Anant. He tells Anant not to trust anyone on this trip. Anant says that he would like to change their travel plans. Naidu tells him to do what he thinks is best. He also advises him to bring Mahalaxmi along both for her protection and possibly to help with the court case. When he hangs up, the Chandangarh chief asks him why he would want to change plans now, since everything has been arranged. Anant agrees that everything is in order, and rattles off a bunch of details about the trip. Chief looks a little surprised, since he's not given the travel plans to Anant yet! He asks how he knows these facts when the plans were locked in his desk. Anant tells him that others know the plans as well, and hands him the paper that he took from the room at the school. The imprints on it were of the group's plans! As this is revealed the wind blows open a window and dislodges a lot of papers. "Looks like a storm is in the making," remarks the Chief.

Outside, we see a Jeep pull up to the camera. A helpful bolt of lightning allows us to see that Angre is waiting calmly inside the vehicle.

Anant leaves the station and hears a woman's voice calling for his attention. He turns to see an elderly woman at the gates of the station. The sentry covering the gate explains to Anant that the woman is Ansari's mother. She's been waiting at the gate ever since Anant's team arrived, insisting that she may talk to him. He offers to get rid of her, but Anant wants to see what she has to say. They open the gates, and he walks over to her.

She tells Anant that she is not educated, and doesn't understand what is going on. All she knows is that some are saying her son is a traitor and is responsible for all the violence. She says that if this is true, then she curses her womb for ever bearing such a son. But, in her heart she knows that he may be innocent. His guilt must be decided by the court. She begs him to make sure he gets to the court, and not shoot him on the way. Anant simply says that she will meet her son, in court. He then turns away and goes back to the station.

Inside the darkened building, Mahalaxmi is cautiously peering out of the windows into the night. Shekhar sneaks up behind her, and grabs her shoulders, pretending to protect her. He makes a big deal about being close to windows where someone can shoot at her.

This is about when Shekhar's amorous intentions kick in. There are quite a few humorous scenes with these two, and they do play well.

He apologizes and asks if he was too rough. She says he wasn't. He also apologizes for being so strict and mean all day, and that he's not good talking with women (uh huh). As he is telling her this, Mhatre passes through and coughs loudly in that "yeah, right" manner. Shekhar suggests he take some medicine and shoos him out. He goes on at some length about how he admires her for doing such important work in such a remote place, and how he is tired of all the corruption and violence he sees. He mentions wanting to quit being a cop and joining her in her work. As this is going on, Mhatre makes another coughing flyby, and Shekhar gets even more irritated. After some more cutesy-poo, we leave the lovebirds and get back to business.

Anant is being introduced to some additional cops. He selects one to be his driver (Ghorpade, if you're keeping track). As he is making his selection, he hears Ashwin on the phone. He asks who it is he's talking to. Ashwin doesn't know the name, but they say they are an old friend of Anant's and have asked to speak to him.
