Anant takes the phone, and the caller welcomes him to Chandangarh. Anant asks who this is, and we can see it is Angre. He says that Anant paid him a visit today, but regrettably he was not there. He says he tried to call, but the phone just rang and rang. He says that Anant still has a good head on his shoulders, and remarks that the smarter the quarry, the more satisfying it is for the hunter. Anant gestures for Ashwin to try and get the call traced. He then asks Angre which is the hunter and which is the quarry?

Ashwin comes in and says the call cannot be traced. Anant says it is somewhere near a train station, since he can hear trains in the background. Angre asks why Anant is being so quiet. Anant thinks it is odd that he's speaking as if they know each other. Ashwin returns to report that the lines near the station have been disconnected. Anant insists that he's in a bar or eatery near a station. Angre says that while Anant might have forgotten his old friends, he sure hasn't. He also hasn't forgiven him for something he did to him. Ashwin comes in yet again and says that due to the recent violence, all of the public places are closed for the night.

At this point a woman's voice can be heard over the phone. Anant realizes that he can hear his wife and daughter talking! Angre is in his house! Angre tells him that there is nowhere he can't go. He tells Anant that he was lucky today, but one day that luck will change. As Anant begins the standard "If you touch my family I'll get you!" speech, Angre says goodnight and hangs up the phone.

Anant frantically dials his home number to warn his family. His wife answers, and he asks if everything is all right. She asks him what he's talking about, and that everything is fine there. In order to not scare them, he tells them that he just misses them, and asks if the police guards he has outside his home are there. She says they are and asks him what the matter is. He tells her it is nothing, and says goodnight.

We get some rapid cuts of the men (and lady) are leaving the station and heading for the transports. As they pull out, they pass Ansari's mother, who is sitting on the curb.

We get a driving montage as cool drum music plays. This goes on for some length of time.

Finally the night of driving ends, and we see inside the lead vehicle. Shekhar is driving, and Mahalaxmi is riding shotgun. Shekhar glances over at her, then swerves the Jeep. Everyone lurches around and looks at Shekhar. He explains that it feels good when he "scrapes past danger" so he's always looking out of a new rush. He even goes so far as to claim that he volunteered for the Chandangarh mission simply because he knew it would be risky. As he is going on and on, he gets more and more excited. Mahalaxmi on the other hand looks increasingly bored and stares out the window. After a bit, Ashwin starts chiming in from the back seat with helpful adjectives to describe Shekhar's virtues. Shekhar cuts him off and resumes bragging. Finally the movie decides we have had enough and we cut to more driving scenes.

The group pulls over at a small town to freshen up. Mhatre gets some food and comes in to talk to Ansari. He offers him some food, but also taunts him saying that if he doesn't eat anything, he'll starve to death. Shekhar comes in and tells Mhatre to leave him alone - he'll eat when he's hungry. Mhatre explains that he was told to give Ansari the food. At this point, Shekhar gets surly, and asks why "the ingrate" won't take what he's being given, and begins punching Ansari. He sends Mhatre out, and tells him to report that the prisoner got what he was asking for.

I was having a hard time deciding what to think of Shekhar here. Yes, we've seen him do a couple of immoral things, but they are always counterbalanced with something funny or nice, such as his interactions with Mahalaxmi. Then before you know it, he's right back to being a crooked cop. In this sense the movie does a good job of making you think twice about just what kind of a person Shekhar really is.

Inside a diner, Anant is on his cell phone to his wife. He goes over many, many details about the wedding with a very tired, and somewhat defeated look on his face. He mentions getting a gift for the groom, and thinks a nice watch would be a good one. He asks Shekhar what kind of watch he has, and it turns out it's a fancy one that costs $5000. Not rupees, dollars. Anant isn't so interested in a watch anymore, and Shekhar looks embarrassed. He claims it was a gift, then trips over some chairs on his way out of the room. Anant looks over at Mahalaxmi and they have a good laugh.
