That evening we see the news broadcast. The reporter tells us that the special police team that is escorting Dr. Ansari has gone missing. They are also suspected of changing alliances, and are now siding with the ISI. We pull back to see Anant's wife and daughter staring at the screen in horror as the story continues. The reporter also says that the team allowed Ansari to escape custody on purpose. They go on to name all of the officer's names, and we are shown each of their families as they react in shock.

We cut from this bad news to a scene of Ansari lying in his hospital bed, thinking back on his days in school, his family, and other happy moments. Outside, Anant patrols the grounds with a flashlight. As he is making his rounds, the lights go out inside the hospital. He goes in to check it out, and finds Ansari in the pharmacy, preparing a lethal injection for himself. Anant runs over to stop him and tells him that he must live. Ansari says he doesn't want to live to see the ruin of his mother and son. Anant tells him that he must live so that they might prevent this sort of tragedy from happening to anyone else. Together, they can try to make a difference and hopefully put a stop to some of the corruption.

The next morning, the staff of the hospital sees that the news report has had quite an effect. An angry mob has shown up outside the building and is rioting. They set fire to the ambulance and are pounding around with large sticks. Ashwin comes in to tell Anant that the Superintendent called to tell them about the false report on the news. The rioters are now breaking the windows and starting to get into the hospital. They suggest to Anant that they leave via the rear entrance, but he tells them they're going to march out the front door.

He assembles the party, and they all stand in the doorway. The crowd looks a little surprised to see them taking this approach, and they stop wrecking things to stare at them. They begin walking to the van, and the crowd parts to let them pass. It seems to be going well until someone in the crowd asks what are they waiting for - they should give Ansari a thrashing. Anant screams out a "No!" then demands to know who said that. He searches through the faces, then grabs the one that said it. He pulls him into the small clearing and tells him that if he wants to kill Ansari then he should go ahead and do it. The man is ashamed and goes back into the crowd. Anant tells the throng that if anyone else wants to come and kill them, they should step forward. No one moves.

He begins to lecture the people, saying how they are cowards for attacking in a group, but when it comes time to take credit for their deeds, no one can face them. Another man says that Ansari is a traitor and must be punished. Anant asks him if he is with the police, or if he is a judge. If not, then who is he to decide what punishment to deliver. He can only be punished in court if he is guilty. Yet another man asks how will he get to court, when even Anant and the police have sold out. Anant takes a few calm steps towards the latest accuser. He tells the man that he feels pity for people like him. They are constantly led astray, and never know the truth. He tells them how they are constantly being manipulated and have no idea what the real story is. He challenges them that if they are sure they are right, then they should try and stop them all right now, or else get out of the way.

The bluff is called, and the group is back on the road. They reach a train station, and talk to the station master. He explains that no passenger trains are scheduled for this day, but there is a cargo train that they can use that will be there soon. While they're waiting, we see Mahalaxmi using the phone in the office. She is overheard telling "Daddy" that she'll be there soon. Shekhar comes in and reminds her that no one was supposed to make any calls. She says that while she's sure their families are used to them being gone and in danger for days at a time, hers is not. He asks her if she said anything about where they were, and she tells him that she's spent enough time with the cops these days to know what not to reveal. She also coyly suggests that she told her father about a dashing brave police officer that was taking special care of her. She also hints that she wants to marry him. Shekhar is very excited to hear this last part. So excited in fact, that it moves him to sing!
