"Vaada Raha" is a quiet ballad, with a cool sound. Again, very catchy tune and is accompanied with some impressive scenery. They also do some interesting little freeze-frame effects where the background stops moving but the actors don't. They do this with a flock of birds, some flower petals (see below) and big splashes of water. It's kind of cool looking.

Anyway, after Shekhar the big pushover is awakened from his daydreaming, Ashwin tells him that Ansari's condition is weakening, and they need to do something right away. We cut to Anant waiting on the boarding platform, and some tense music starts to play. In the distance we hear the train whistle, so Anant goes to get the rest of the group. As he turns to walk away, we see Angre lean out of the engineer's cab on the train. He disembarks as it comes to a stop, as do about two dozen masked and armed men. The men fan out and begin searching the station.

As the doors are being kicked in and rooms are being scoured, we see a hand turning the key to the police van. Angre hears the engine turning over and rushes to the parking lot. We see Khamlesh has pulled out in the van, and they give chase. As the van speeds around in the trees near the station, Shekhar uses the distraction to jump behind the train and sneak on board. He makes his way to the engine car, and tosses out the guard there. He blows the whistle on the train, and the other officers begin moving towards it. Angre also heard the whistle and leads a small group of soldiers over to the platform. Anant and the others make a break for the train while shooting down several of the enemy. One by one the men get onto the train and take cover. All of them except for Khamlesh, who is still driving the van.

Khamlesh races along the tracks in the van, keeping pace with them. He ditches the van a short distance away and makes a sprint towards the train. Angre sees him in the clear and heads towards him. Ashwin sees the enemies moving towards him and runs to the rear of the train to pick a few of them off before they can stop Khamlesh. He is able to make it onto the tracks and struggles to catch up with the train. Angre takes a deep breath, and grabs one of the assault rifles from one of his men, and calmly takes aim. Just as Khamlesh touches Ashwin's outstretched hand, he takes two shots in the back from Angre and goes down. Ashwin curses Angre, and we see a lingering shot of Khamlesh as he lies on the railroad tracks.

We cut to Khamlesh's wife getting dressed for the day, and putting on her vermillion. Her son tells her that someone is there to see her. It's Ashwin, and he's looking nervous. He explains who he is, and she is very happy to see him. After all, if he's there, that means the mission is over, right? She asks when they got back, and he tells her it was early that morning. She tells him she was so nervous after seeing them on the news, and is glad they are back. She invites him in, but he politely declines. She notices that something is bothering him, and is also concerned that he's there alone. She finally figures out that Khamlesh is not coming back. He tells her that be fought bravely to the very end, and that he spent his last moments missing her very much. He always said that she was very strong, and would be able to carry on if something were to happen to him.

She tells Ashwin that she was always trying to get Khamlesh to quit being a cop, but he always explained to her why it was so important that he keep at it. She would tell him that normal people wake up, go to work, then come home at night. They play with their children, and sleep peacefully. He would reply, the reason they sleep peacefully is because of men like him making them secure. Ashwin turns to leave as Khamlesh's son asks his mother where his daddy is, but all she can do is weep.

I thought this was a very good scene. It showed Ashwin the hard part of being a cop, and facing the real loss that some must endure. It also showed that even though they were a little argumentative before he left, Khamlesh really loved his family and was proud to be a cop to protect them, and others. Lots of movies pick off their characters one at a time and don't always show those that are affected by these deaths. I was pleased to see they took this into consideration with this film.

Back to the others. Anant is at the hospital unloading Ansari. As the doctors begin wheeling him down the halls to the OR, they notice that he's already slipped away from them. Anant is informed that Ansari is dead, and he refuses to believe it. He tries to revive him as the other officers begin to tear up. After all they endured, all the mud-slinging and slander, they were unable to save him at the last moment.

That night, the men are leaving the police station. A large gathering of reporters are there snapping pictures and stuffing microphones into their faces. The men are silent, and make their way down the steps. Anant sees Ansari's mother and son standing at the end of the steps. She gives him the nastiest look you've ever seen and old lady make. He goes over to her and begins to tell her what happened. She doesn't seem interested, and slaps him hard in the face. As she walks away, Anant can only stand there in stony silence as the commotion continues around him.
