I should probably mention that there are some spoilers on this page, at the
bottom. If you don't want to spoil the ending, you should stop here.
As Lara Dutta (Miss Universe 2000) does her thing on stage, we see Shekhar
making his way through the crowd looking for Bhaskar's son. He finds him half
passed out on a table, and pulls him into a side room where it's a little
quieter. He's not interested in talking about his father as it seems that's all
anyone wants to talk to him about. He's had many visitors as of late and has
even been beaten for information. However, he doesn't know where the files are
or even what they contain. He says that his mother went mad from seeing Bhaskar
die.
Shekhar
is confused - Bhaskar died in Chandangarh. How did she see him die? If you'll
think back, there was a news team there that night trying to talk to Ansari.
They followed him into the exam room, and caught Bhaskar's final moments on
tape. In a moment of questionable taste, they showed it on the news. It just so
happens that he has a tape of the news that night! Bhaskar's throat had been
cut, and he couldn't speak. However, he moved his lips. Shekhar takes the tape
to a specialist to see if he can make out what he was trying to tell Ansari.
The expert is able to make out that Bhaskar was saying a post office box
number in Mumbai. As he's leaving the studio, Shekhar gets a call from
Mahalaxmi. She complains that she's not heard from him for two days. He tells
her it'll all be over soon, as he has tracked down the file. She hassles him for
a while to get him to tell her where he is, and he finally gives in. She says
she'll meet him there right away. He hangs up and dials Anant to tell him the
file is in a box at the post office. Anant is thrilled and says he is on his
way.
That
night we see Mahalaxmi and Shekhar looking through the file. For some odd reason
they've snuck into the office after hours and are sneaking around with a
flashlight. The security guard notices the lights and heads in to check on
things.
Shekhar snaps the file closed and begins to head out. As they climb down the
steps, they notice they've stepped in something sticky. As they look down, a
trail of blood leads around a corner to a body that is partially obscured by the
door frame. Shekhar puts the file in his shirt and draws his gun. We see that
the body is the security guard. A voice calls out from the darkness in greeting.
Angre is at the end of the hall. He helpfully explains that the guard was about
to sound the alarm and ruin all of their fun, so he had to put a stop to that.
He then tells Shekhar to hand over the file. Instead, Shekhar takes a shot at
him and barely misses Angre's head.
This
of course sets off a big gunfight. We see lots of close calls as bullets just
barely miss their marks. Finally Shekhar runs out of bullets and takes off
running with Mahalaxmi. Angre knows a shortcut or two and heads them off,
leading to a pretty rough fistfight. Naturally, this is where Shekhar excels,
since he is after all, channeling the
Toughest Man
Alive. At one point in the fighting, Angre produces a small hand-axe from
nowhere and gets a good cut on Shekhar's chest. I will spare you the rest of the details of this battle, but the short version is
this - pretty cool wire-fu fighting, good stunts, and Mahalaxmi standing there
looking shocked.
Finally Angre is kicked out of the front door and rolls down the steps where
several cars have pulled up. Unfortunately, they're full of bad guys who start
shooting at Shekhar. He ducks back into the post office and looks for another
way out. Angre, being the cool cat that he is, takes a moment to light a smoke.
Shekhar and Mahalaxmi make it outside via a rear entrance. He hands her the
file and tells her to get to safety with it. He orders her to deliver it to
Anant and only him. He tells her that he loves her and she does the same. She
runs off and he prepares to deal with the other bad guys.
There's
a pretty cool sequence of him kicking the daylights out of the other bad guys
that features some cool stunt work. However, there's a little confusion when
he's done. I'll admit, I'm not sure how he ends up where he does. One moment
he's whaling on everyone in an alley behind the post office, then he runs onto
the field at a stadium. Oh well! As he stands there, the lights come on. He
searches the stands for any sign of movement, then he spots Mahalaxmi running as
fast as she can along the bleachers. Angre comes up one of the stairwells in
front of her, and Shekhar calls out a warning to her. Angre reaches out and
grabs her by the shoulders, and we see Shekhar's expression. It goes from a look
of "Oh no!" to "What the Hell?!" We see that Mahalaxmi is not at all upset about
being captured. In fact, she's giving Angre one heck of a smooch!
