With
a "Don't you just want to smack me?" look on her face, Mahalaxmi hands the file
to Angre. Angre begins taunting Shekhar about how he fell for a pretty face. A
bunch of armed goons also join them in the bleachers. Angre explains that having
Mahalaxmi tag along the whole time was all his idea, and it worked perfectly. As
Angre is tooting his own horn, Shekhar reaches behind him and pushes the redial
button on his cell phone.
Anant's phone rings while he's in the car with Ashwin. He answers and says they went to the post office, but no one was there. He asks where he is now. Shekhar can't hear him of course, but Anant can hear Angre talking. In the typical James Bond villain role, he gives a detailed explanation of how Mahalaxmi was reporting every step of their progress to him as they went. Angre asks him if he has any last requests. His reply is to ask them not to tell anyone how he was killed, or else people would lose faith in love. At this, Mahalaxmi's face falls. He also asks that she be the one to fire the first shot at him. Angre has no problems with any of that, so he hands his pistol to her.
She
takes her time drawing a bead on him, then puts a round into his chest. This
gives all the other guys their cue, and they do their best to re-enact the death
scene from RoboCop. After being shot about 500 times, Shekhar falls to the turf. The
villains leave the stadium, and the lights are switched off.
Anant comes to the scene and finds Shekhar's body. He mourns the loss of his friend, then removes Shekhar's official police belt (which sports an impressive metal buckle, remember that for later). He then decides its time to take out the trash.
He leads a squad of police over to Naidu's place, and starts giving him the business. He asks how someone that had sworn to protect the law could go along with all of this. This interrogation lasts for a while, and involves lots of slapping until finally Naidu says that he is on Anant's side. Anant tells him that he doesn't need him and smashes him through a window overlooking a busy street. He holds onto his shirt while Naidu dangles precariously on the edge. Ashwin is watching all of this with a mildly panicked expression, but he does not move to stop him.
The scene changes and we join Ashwin in a car outside a women's hostel. He spots Mahalaxmi leaving her room. He calls Anant to report this, and he tells him to tail her and see where she goes. She leads him to what looks to be a somewhat overgrown house. Ashwin takes out a guard and throws him down a well as he sneaks up to the house. We see inside, where Mahalaxmi is lounging on Angre who is on the phone with Deodhar. From his conversation, we learn how the previous scene ended. Naidu has told him that Anant is badly injured, and is in the hospital. He tells Deodhar that the thorn has been removed from his side, but if he wants the file of evidence he must pay Angre a large sum of money. Deodhar agrees to the blackmail, and they hang up.
Pleased
with themselves, Mahalaxmi gets up and has a hug and a smooch with Angre, and
doesn't notice the men moving outside. As they're lovin' on each other we see
Anant breaking the necks of some of the guards and getting closer to where they
are inside. Angre spots him as he moves into the room and takes a shot at him.
Ashwin also joins the fight and fires back at Angre. Shots are exchanged on both
sides until Angre sees that Anant has a clear shot at him. As Anant pulls the
trigger, Angre pulls Mahalaxmi in front of him and she takes the slug in the
back.
In
the moments that follow, Ashwin is able to get the file from the desk and clear
the room. Angre tries to console Mahalaxmi telling her that she was useful in
both life and death, but she doesn't feel any better. He drops her body and
makes his escape in his car. The cops are not far behind in another one of the
large sturdy police vans. They have a spirited chase for a few minutes, with
your expected ramming of each other, going off the road, etc. Anant finally gets
Angre's car to flip onto its side, and he pushes it down a steep incline. Angre
gets out of the car moments before some of the sparking hot metal from the
wreckage ignites the gas tank and the car explodes.
Anant gets out of the van and walks towards Angre, who is again calmly lighting a smoke. They square off in a mud filled gully, and decide that it's about time this whole thing was settled.
