Angre
trains the rifle on Ashwin who is reaching for his handgun. Angre works the
action on the rifle, but only hears a click when he pulls the trigger. He looks
rather bemused as he realizes what has happened, then tosses the rifle down. He
sarcastically puts his hands up, and turns to go back to the van. He is stopped
by the sound of Ashwin cocking his pistol. With a look of mild surprise he turns
back to Ashwin, who then shoots Angre twice in the chest.
Angre looks at him in shock. Ashwin extends his left hand and shows Angre the nut and bolt that he removed from the bar so that this whole setup could happen. Ashwin throws the bolt at Angre who slumps to the ground. Ashwin tells the other officer to load the rifle and to fire a couple shots at the van.
Ashwin
calls in on his phone to tell the station the "bad news." He reports that Angre
grabbed the guard's rifle and tried to escape. When Ashwin told him to
surrender, he fired at them. He returned fire, and Angre was wounded. He's
alive, and they're taking him to the hospital, but there are slim chances for
his survival. The sound is muted while we watch Angre lie on the ground as
Ashwin casually chats on his phone. The credits begin over this image, which
slowly fades out.
