We
see Ganga opening the box, and she pulls out a statue of Rama holding his bow.
She is reminded of Ram, and gets kind of spacey. She hears some voices in the
distance, and sees a large group of women has gathered outside on the side of
the building.
They all run out to a balcony and call out over the river while Ganga looks on. A song begins - "Aaja Sajan Aaja." No subtitles, so we'll just admire the scenery while they go about the singing. During the course of the song, we see Ganga doing some singing and dancing while Ballu looks on admiringly.
Ganga imagines Ram with her for some of the song, but when it ends she sees that she's in the arms of Ballu. She's a little startled by this, and pulls away.

Ballu is amazed at how much his attitude towards Ganga has changed. For a fugitive on the lam who has taken an undercover police officer as a hostage, he sure is sweet on her. He confesses that he's spent a lifetime lying to people, but for once he's being serious. He offers her a mangal-sutra to her to make her his bride.
Ganga is very upset by this. She explains that she has great respect for Ballu (what?!) but that she does not love him. When pressed for an explanation, she tells him that she is engaged to someone else, but won't say who. The more she talks, the angrier Ballu gets until he drops the necklace and slaps Ganga. She begs of him not to think of her this way, but he's good and mad now.
After a little more hurt feelings talk, Ballu asks here if she knows why children grow up to be villains. He explains it is because they feel the pain of deception. He also tells her that if she thought he was a villain before, she's not seen anything yet.
His vengeance is interrupted by one of the Hoodlums calling to him. The cops have showed up again and have the place surrounded. They tell him the one (somewhat) clear path to escape and the shooting starts. I hope you didn't have any great affection for the remaining Hoodlums, because unless my count is off most of them buy the farm in this battle.
Ganga
runs out into the field of fire and somehow isn't hit by any of the fifty or so
cops out there shooting everywhere. She stands in front of Ballu and defiantly
tells the police they're not going to shoot him. She distracts the cops long
enough for Ballu to get away. We have a quick chase scene with one of the cops
running through some trees after him. They eventually abandon the chase for the
night since the jungle is dangerous and it's getting dark.
We see Arti at a police checkpoint listening to the radio chatter between the cops. She sneaks out of the Jeep and disappears when she hears them talking about how they're going to attack her son in the morning.
Arti finds her way to a small Christian church. The only other person there is the preacher, but he tells her that he's not seen anyone come through. He tells her that if she prays, she will see him again. She must do this pretty quickly, because seconds later she sees Ballu crouching down behind some shelves.
He asks how she got there, and she tells him that she escaped from the police that were nearby. They have some reunion dialog before easing into a montage of her cleaning him up and feeding him while we listen to a reprise of "O Ma Tujhe Salaam."
The quiet doesn't last long however, as Ram comes into the church to investigate. Ballu thinks that Arti led him there to be captured. She explains the whole "he's your childhood friend" angle, and that Ram's about the only guy in the area that's not ready to shoot Ballu on sight. She begs Ballu to be taken safely into custody with Ram instead of getting shot to pieces. At least that way he'd still be alive, and she could see him.
