We jump back to the police station. Two detectives (I'm assuming) come into Ram's office and report that Ballu claims that he has no family. He does have a girlfriend named Sophia though, but she has gone missing. Ram tells them to track her down.

We cut to a woman on the phone. She introduces herself to the person she's talking to as Sophia, and tells them that if Ballu hangs for his crimes, she'll kill herself. These are some devoted ladies, I tell you what.

We see that she's talking to Roshan Mahanta. He's sitting at his desk getting shaved by someone while he talks on the phone. I'm not sure if this is meant to be cool, but I don't think I'd want someone scraping my neck with a straight razor while I was talking. He tells her not to worry about it, and that he'll see her soon.

He hangs up and tells someone sitting in the room that he will guarantee they win "the election," and that it's going to be expensive. He then turns to the thug that was responsible for the malfunctioning motorcycle. The thug apologizes profusely, and begs for forgiveness. Roshan asks him what the proper way to beg is, and the thug throws himself at Roshan's feet. Roshan then takes a knife and stabs him repeatedly in the back. The visiting politicians are alarmed by this, and Roshan's cats pant. I swear, I've never seen a cat pant before, but trust me - it's hilarious.

Roshan asks where Munna is. He's the other accomplice that was at the assassination, but they didn't bother to give us a name for him until now. The guys don't know where he is, but they have news about Ballu. He's been sentenced to twenty years in jail. At least it wasn't "rigorous imprisonment." That seems like a pretty mild sentence for someone that assassinated an elected official, but maybe he just had a really good lawyer.

We see the news being delivered to Arti, who is of course upset. The old man (name please!) is telling her to consider him as good as dead, since he's already said that she was dead to him.

The movie decides that we've waited long enough, and we're given two treats - the opening credits and our first song! This is appropriately enough "Khal Nayak," being performed by Sophia. This is a weird one. There are lots of big grinning demon heads in the background, and it's all dark blue and smoky. Oh, it isn't subtitled either, so we'll assume she's talking about Ballu and what a badass he is. The dance scenes are spliced between footage of Ballu being moved from his holding cell, then via train to his prison home.

Other scenes are shown where Ballu is being questioned, beaten up while tied to a giant trapeze, and getting yelled at while he laughs. We cut from the big scary dance number to Sophia in her bedroom, sort of flopping around on some random snapshots of Ballu that are on the floor. She does her whiplash hair tosses, but I think Kajol still has her beat on those.

Now that we've finally had our credits sequence, we're getting right back into it. We see Roshan and associates descending in an elevator, talking about how great it is that Ballu hasn't cracked under pressure from the cops yet.

We see one of the interviews with Ballu. Ram and Pandey are offering him a plea bargain to reduce his sentence. I thought this kind of thing happened before you were sentenced with jail time, but thankfully I'm not an expert. Anyway, they tell him that if he'll reveal the name and whereabouts of the boss of the gang they can reduce his jail time from twenty years to only two years. Now, this is someone that's killed five people and tampered with elections. Two years seems a little generous, but what do I know?
