Our main villain runs out into the street with Tony and his Merry Men in hot pursuit. Tony lobs a soda bottle at him, but misses.
Finally the guy is exhausted and falls down. Tony's cadre surrounds him and
looks irritable. As if the fight in the club wasn't silly enough, we get some
real comedy here. Remember the guy who had his hand stabbed back in the office,
which started the whole fight? Well he's here with the others, having just
sprinted about two blocks. The large knife with a heavy handle, is still stuck
through his palm. He is waving the hand up and down doing an "Ooooooooooh
this hurts!" face. I'm thinking if he stopped moving it, it may hurt less. At
any rate, Tony notices that his buddy has brought a knife, and rips it out of
his friend's hand.
Tony
then proceeds to aggressively, and I do mean aggressively stab the runner
in the back. There are at least seven solid hits, and the knife's blade is a
good five inches long. Remember that for a moment. We see some concerned
citizens witnessing this assault, and a close up on one of them as he tells his
driver to get him out of there.
Oh, and yes you might be on to something if you noticed any similarities to the scene in Scarface where Tony kills the Columbian drug dealer in the middle of a busy street in broad daylight after a transaction went sour in front of dozens of people. Just sayin'.
We cut back to Tony and Goli visiting with Patil to get their payment. We join in the conversation midway, as we hear Patil telling Tony not to worry, he won't be in any trouble for what he did. We also learn that astonishingly, the man that had been stabbed seven times with a five inch blade in the torso has somehow survived his attack.
I thought this might lead to trouble later on, but I was mistaken. For all the attention he got in his big scene, we never see the stabbing victim again.
Tony
informs Patil that he'll take the agreed upon value of 10,000 for the first four
keys, but for the fifth and most troublesome one, he wants 20,000. After some
mild tension, Patil agrees to pay him the higher price. Tony goes outside and
gives all his pals their cut of the payment. Tony wants to go home and sleep
after his long day, but Goli tells him he has other plans. He's bought tickets
for the two of them to go see a musical performance that evening. Tony is
reluctant at first, but Goli tells him to just come along, and he can sleep in
the air-conditioned theater if he doesn't want to see the show.
We cut to the performance hall where a huge crowd has gathered. We can see some banners and signs with Sapna's picture on them as the people file inside. After some comedy involving stolen seats, we settle in for our first musical number, "Dil Hai Deewana."
