Shanti runs headlong into the guys and begins shrieking like a banshee. They men try to calm her down, but she just starts yelling at them for always trying to scare her. After a moment Shanti catches her breath and gets angry. She sets off to go get Nupur for scaring her so badly, but the guys stop her. They say that Nupur isn't even in town tonight, so she can't have been in the library to scare her. Shanti thinks they are kidding again, and says that it must have been Nupur's ghost in there. She grabs their arms to take them to the library to show them what she saw, but they are able to resist. They take a moment to say that the only thing capable of scaring them is Talli's face (not fair picking on Talli, he's not with them to defend himself!) then they all run out of the library.
We
cut to a taxi pulling up in front of Nupur's house. Talli hops out and runs
inside to check and see if she is okay. He runs all over the house as an odd
strobe-light effect hits us, making his search look pretty strange. His cursory
investigation turns up nothing, so he calls Kabir on this cell phone. He says he
is at Nupur's house, and he is positive something is wrong. He tells Kabir to
get there as soon as he can.
Talli continues to look through the house for signs of Nupur. The camera goes on its own tour of the place, and shows us that Nupur's body is still sticking out of the wall in her bedroom. Talli doesn't make it to this room since he is stopped by something he notices in the same bathroom Nupur saw the person in the shower. The water is running in the sink, and the cover page to "A Few Untold Things" is covering the drain. Upon realizing what it is, Talli grabs the page and goes looking for the rest of the book. He sees it lying on a coffee table downstairs and grabs it, thinking it will be safer in the library. Personally I think he'd be best off giving it to the principal to give to Das, but I'm not the one calling the shots here. He stuffs it in his backpack and runs outside.
Halfway
down the driveway, Talli gets hit by Kabir who is just now pulling up to the
house. Talli bounces off the hood, but is not hurt. Kabir asks him what has him
so flustered, but Talli doesn't want to talk about it right now. They ride back
to Talli's place in silence. When they arrive, Talli runs inside and locks the
door behind him without saying a word to Kabir. Kabir drives off, as Talli
tiptoes his way into (what I am assuming is) his house. He starts hitting light
switches, but suddenly realizes that he left his backpack with the book of death
in Kabir's car on the backseat. Talli quickly calls Kabir and tells him that he
left his bag in the car, and that there's a book in there that absolutely must
go back to the library tomorrow. Kabir says that's no big deal, they're meeting
later that evening to see Manav's performance (of what?) so he can give it to
him then. Talli accepts this, and warns Kabir to not read the book. He doesn't
explain exactly why, but stresses that it is very important that he not look at
it.
They hang up, and Kabir starts talking to himself. He muses about all this fuss concerning this precious book that must be kept safe, and is not to be read. He thinks that Talli is hiding something, and the best place to find out what is... inside the book! Kabir decides to go directly against Talli's wishes and begins to read. He opens directly to the back of the book to read the ending, and has a vision comparable to that of Nupur's, which freaks him directly out. He calls Talli back to tell him what happened. We have a point of view shot going through Talli's darkened house, eventually ending on the ringing telephone. We see Talli answer it, but his voice sounds a little odd. It's just a touch deeper than usual, and he's remarkably calm. Every other time we've seen Talli, he's been a bundle of energy, be that happy, nervous, or mischievous. Now though, he's cool as ice. He tells Kabir that he said he should not read it, but Kabir just had to go and do it anyway. He tells Kabir to meet him at the college, and he's leaving right now.
Behind
Talli, we can see down the hallway to the bathroom. We hear a cheerful whistling
coming from inside, and Talli walks out drying his hair! So who was that on the
phone... Talli gets his jacket, checks his keys and pockets, and looks to be
going out. As he does so, we see the rocking chair in the room is moving pretty
violently, despite looking empty. As the camera pans to the floor, we can see
the shadow of a human figure seated in the chair! Over at the college, we see
Kabir out in front of the main building. He gets a call from "Talli," who tells
him to come inside the building.
Akshay and Talli arrive outside the library to look for Kabir before going to the show. They can't find him outside, so they go into the main area and split up. Meanwhile Kabir is on the next floor up, where he gets another call telling him to go to the storeroom. He rather frantically does so, and lets himself inside. We see a lot more of the same junk that Shanti did, but there is no trace of Nupur's ghost or any other weirdness. Kabir gives himself a scare when he dusts off a mirror to reveal some piercing green eyes behind him, but it's just a painting.
Feeling
confused, he decides to call Talli back and see where he is. As he dials the
number, we hear another phone ringing in the storeroom. Kabir notices it is
coming from Talli's backpack, and digs through it to discover Talli's cell phone
has been in the backpack all along. He wonders who has been calling him if he's
had Talli's phone, but doesn't wait around long to find out. He grabs the bag
and makes a break for the doors, but they close in front of him, trapping him in
the storeroom. He turns around to face the room again, as a rapid zoom shot
closes in on his face.
Outside, Talli remembers that his phone is with Kabir in the bag, so he tells Akshay to call his phone and see if Kabir answers, since they can't find him anywhere out here. They can hear the cheerful ring tone from where they're standing, so they follow it to the source. They find the bag wedged in the door of a phone booth not too far away from where they are standing. Talli checks to see if everything is still in the bag (it is) then wonders why Kabir would just leave this here and wander off. Talli thinks something is wrong, but Akshay says he probably just stuck it there when he saw the library was closed. He doesn't seem to want to talk about it, and says that he just wants to go to Manav's show.
