After
screaming a few times, he hears Disha's voice calling out Amar's name. He turns
to look behind him, and sees her standing there. She tells him she's waited a
long time for this, but now the wait is over. Manav asks her if she will answer
a question for him. She doesn't say anything, so he presses forward with the
question anyway. He asks her just what it is that she wants - his heart, his
body, his soul - what is it?
After an unusually long blink, Disha tells him that she wants everything. He says that he will give her everything she wants, except his heart. That is something he has already made a permanent part of someone else, and Disha can't have it. He tells her that it belongs to Shanti, and he is here to give everything else away just to protect her from harm.
Disha
tells Manav that she knows a thing or two about loss. She's spent a long time
hovering between life and death, and had sacrificed herself and her peace to be
with Amar again. As long as she gets what she was after, nothing else matters.
He tells her that he can't give her his life. However, he can give her his
death. Disha gets a little deep here, as a breeze kicks up across the mountain.
She tells him that the wind, and all of nature want Manav to become hers once
again. Manav says that to achieve something after losing it all doesn't mean
anything, and that all of these signs are meant to support his union with
Shanti. He says that today his love for Shanti becomes immortal, and he begins
walking backwards to the edge of the hill. As Disha looks on, he falls over the
side, and plummets down the side of the mountain.
We
see his body lying in the snow, and Disha appears next to him. He tells her that
he has proven his love for Shanti, and it will live forever. He tells Disha that
she has lost, and he passes out. Disha sheds a tear, and a blizzard, much like
the one that preceded her last death, covers the scene with snow.
In an artfully done transition, we find ourselves looking down through a skylight of a small cabin as the snow continues to fall. Through the frosted glass, we can see Manav lying in a bed. He rolls over, and sits up looking confused.
The
door to the cabin opens, and an older gentleman comes inside with a load of
firewood. He tosses a few logs onto the flames, and Manav asks him how he got
there. The man tells him that a girl brought him here, and then left. She left
no contact information, but she did give the man something to give to Manav when
he awakened. The man then gives Manav the necklace that Disha had been wanting
to give Amar twenty two years ago.
Manav is swept over by a wave of emotions, and looks as if he might cry. Just then, an intense beam of moonlight shines through a window, illuminating some writing that has been made in the frost on the glass - a final message from Disha.
We hear her voice as he reads the words. She says that he's probably wondering how he got his life back. She then tells him that she hasn't really lost, since her happiness lies in his happiness, and he's happy with Shanti. So, by returning to life and being with her, everyone wins. She realized that love was giving, not taking, and that she came to understand what he meant when he was willing to give his life for Shanti. She says that she will be with him forever, not as the shadow of threat that she had been, but as the warmth of the sun as he continues on his life's journey.
We
have a "one year later" card, and we see that Manav and Shanti are happily
together, and all is right with the world. We hear the strains of "Suna Suna"
playing again as a montage of scenes showing the moments Manav and Disha shared
before things got out of hand. Finally, Shanti and Manav look up to the rising
sun, and the credits begin to roll.
