Kittu
goes up to the front door and rings the bell. We have a tearful reunion with the
family, and apologizes for running away. Dad says he is sorry for tearing up all
of Kittu's stuff, and that he's fixed the ones he could. Kittu heads to his
bedroom and lets Mallika in through his sneaking window.
Now, remember what Kittu's room looks like? Well as we just said, Kittu's dad replaced or repaired all of his pictures. So once again the room is a shrine to Mallika. I would find this more than a little creepy if I were her. Instead of running in terror, she ends up looking almost impressed with the collection. (shrug)
The door opens suddenly, and Mallika hides behind it. It's Kittu's mom with some bathwater. He manages to shoo her off without letting her all the way in. Kittu gives the water to Mallika to take a bath while he goes and looks for some of his sister's clothes for her to wear.
As
he's looking around, we see Niki on the phone with Nisha, telling her that Kittu
has come home. She goes into Kittu's room to hand the phone to him. Mallika
opens the door to the bathroom a crack and takes the phone. In a weird bit, I
noticed there's a Dennis the Menace(tm) poster on the door. Sorry, for some
reason these things stand out to me.
That night at dinner, the family is discussing the disappearance of Mallika. They also ask Kittu which movie stars he saw while he was away. Those of you with keen ears can pick out some famous Indian actors in the list he rattles off. We learn that Kittu's dad has a crush on an actress named Rekha (I'll have to do some research, I've not seen any of this her movies yet), and it always sends him into a little giddy fit to hear her name.
They
go on talking for a while, and we can see the family is happy to be back
together again. Kittu sneaks a plate of dinner back to his room for Mallika.
She's got a sad, wistful look on her face that concerns Kittu. She explains that
she was watching the family eat, and never knew that a family could be this way.
She tells Kittu that he's very lucky to have such good people to live with. She
also mentions that she feels very close to Kittu, and that she finally feels
like she has someone to call her own.
They get ready for sleeping. Mallika's got the bed, Kittu's on floor duty. Of course his mind is racing after all that's happened, and what she's said to him. He is so excited, that it's time for a song!
We're up in the mountains while we hear Mallika sing her rendition of the movie's theme song, "Mast." Yes, we've heard this once before, but that was a guy that time. I think the woman singing it sounds better than the guy anyway, so go with it. The song isn't subtitled this time either, so I'm still not completely clear on what they're talking about. We'll just enjoy the tune and get on with our lives.

Kittu's very nice dream is interrupted by Nisha, who is pounding on the bedroom door. Kittu wakes Mallika up and tells her to hide in the bathroom. Nisha comes into the room and starts swatting Kittu and asking him where the Hell he's been for so long. He calms her down enough to toss her out of the room and offer an explanation to Mallika.
We see Nisha and Niki talking on the couch. They have a silly teasing conversation then take off running all over the house. I wish I could be more clear there, but really that's what happens. Kittu gets dragged into it, then Dad comes in and puts a stop to all this nonsense. They have a close call with Niki almost going into Kittu's bedroom, but it's thwarted at the last moment. Dad takes Kittu aside and they walk outside for a bit. Niki gets a wild hair to go exploring in Kittu's room.
Mallika
hears her come in and is able to hide behind a dresser while Niki searches the
bedroom. She finds the burqa that Mallika was using as a disguise, and shortly
thereafter discovers Mallika herself, who had moved to the closet. Kittu catches
her before she can alert anyone, and explains the situation. Niki seems okay
with it, since in the next scene they're both breaking the news to their mother
about the visitor. Mom is also more or less okay with it, but warns them that
their father will go right to the police. They try to convince her to let
Mallika stay without telling their father. It's kind of strange to watch them go
through all this with Mallika sitting right there while they plead about keeping
her like a puppy.
