As Sharma pulls away, a bus comes to a stop at the same corner. Someone gets out and helps Bunty disembark. Bunty sees Mini standing there and runs over excitedly. Mini bids Deepak goodbye and walks Bunty home. Back at the house, we're treated to a lovely shot of Narayan dangling the dead kitten in front of the camera before dropping it (still twitching! I hope to anyone that's listening that the cat was just drugged) into a shallow grave behind the house. As he scoops dirt on top of it, Shalini comes outside to make sure the evidence has been taken care of. Narayan says that he knows the Sharma's are not superstitious, but he believes it is a bad omen for a cat to die on your property.

Shalini keeps a straight face as Mini and Bunty come walking towards them. They see Narayan patting the last bit of earth onto the little pile, and Bunty asks what's going on. Shalini says they're planting a seed so a plant will grow. Mini asks what kind of plant they're working on, but Shalini silences her with a quick shake of the head. Shalini tells Bunty to go inside and change out of his school clothes. He takes off, but stops before he reaches the house. He asks where his kitten is, but Shalini just says he'll be around somewhere. Bunty seems to accept this vague reply, and goes inside making meow noises. Shalini then turns to Mini and explains that the cat is dead. A view from the Scary Darkened Window lets us know that this whole ordeal has been witnessed by Someone Scary Next Door.

Cut to that night. Bunty is up in his room playing with some little toys. Mini enters the room and starts messing with the toys as well. Bunty points out that it is now a bit late, and the cat has still not come home. Mini assures him that the cat must have gone out for a stroll, and will come along when he's ready. She then distracts him with the toys until Narayan comes in to tell Mini that her father wishes to see her.

Mini enters the den and sees her father with a stern expression on his face. He makes some vague allusions to what he saw earlier that day by the side of the road, and Mini immediately begins babbling and doing damage control. She mumbles on (at length) that the boy he saw was a friend of hers from College that had dropped her off on his motorcycle. When she's done rambling, Sharma says that at her age, she needs to be very mindful of whom she makes friends with. Mini seems to understand and nods in agreement. Sharma then tells her to sit down, and starts asking her about how her classes are going.

We cut from this somewhat awkward scene to an exterior of the house. The camera pans from what I am assuming was the window of the den, to the upstairs bedroom of Bunty's. Inside the room, Bunty continues his fascination with his wind-up toys, when we see the cat that had been run over earlier that day trotting into the frame, looking no worse for wear. The music gets ultra weird to reinforce the fact that cats usually don't do this once they've been flattened by a whitewall.

Downstairs Shalini prepares a glass of milk, and heads up to Bunty's room to give it to him. When she enters the room, she stops short at the sight of the cat. Bunty happily tells her that the cat finally showed up! Shalini stares at the cat (as I'd imagine anybody would!) and eventually gasps for breath. She looses her grip on the glass of milk, and it drops to the dresser, spilling its contents.

The cat and Bunty both give Shalini looks that are rather unnerving as the string section continues to get weird on the soundtrack. Shalini nervously inches over to Bunty and snatches him up off of the floor. She carries him quickly out of the room and out into the hall where she begins to cry loudly. This attracts the attention of Mini and Sharma who bolt from the den to see what's going on. Sharma asks her what happened, and all she can tell him is that the problem is in Bunty's room.

Sharma goes to investigate and Mini tries to follow. Shalini grabs Mini's arm and tells her not to go in there. Sharma disappears into the bedroom as the rest of the family waits in the hallway. After a few tense moments, Sharma returns to the hall and says that he doesn't see anything out of the ordinary. Shalini insists that she saw the cat that was killed earlier in that room (wait, isn't Bunty standing right next to you?) and accuses Sharma of thinking she's lying. He tells her that there is the slight possibility that what she saw was in fact another cat. This shuts her up.
