Sanjana
makes it outside and runs a few steps along the path to the woods. She turns to
look back at the house and sees that all of the lights, both inside and out, are
flickering and flashing madly. Sanjana finally regains her nerve and calls out
angrily to the house. She wants to know who is doing all of this, and declares
that as long as she lives, she will not let them take over her home. She tells
the house that they won't get rid of her by scaring her, and she'll not be the
one to leave.
The house weathers all of her shouts pretty well. It happily continues to flash the lights off and on, content to ignore Sanjana until she droops onto the yard while sobbing uncontrollably. We have one of our depressingly abrupt cuts from a dramatic scene to a quiet and foggy morning outside the house. Sanjana can be seen sprawled out on the yard where she has apparently spent the night.
Sanjana comes to with the rays of the sun, and marches into the house to see if anything's going on. The first few rooms look to be in order, and she heads for the bedroom. She sits on the edge of the bed and reaches for the bottle of sleeping pills. She begins to cry when she realizes what she's doing, and angrily throws the bottle across the room. She heads out to the car, and picks up Priya. They then find Agni in his library. Agni has no intention of helping them again. He swears that he won't do anything to aid Sanjana or else he knows her husband will come around and beat him up. He tells them both to leave.
Sanjana
says that she has actually seen the spirit now, and says that it's a woman.
Priya asks what is going on, since the events that are happening are escalating.
First it was only voices, now things are moving and they're seeing people. Agni
takes a few steps towards them, and asks them if they were involved "in that
incident." The women don't know what he's talking about, so he shows them the
tape of Nisha in the hospital. He explains that what happened to her took place
right behind Sanjana's house. Coincidentally, this took place just a few hours
before Sanjana rolled the car back in Bombay. When she came to, she asked to
come to Ooty. Agni feels that the same spirit that killed Nisha is also
responsible for Sanjana coming here. He doesn't know if she intends to hurt
Sanjana, but he does know that she wants to tell her something. When she asks
what it is she has to say, he tells her they won't know until they return to the
scene of the incident.
We cut to the three of them pulling up to the spot in the trees where Rohit and Nisha had their problems. Agni points to the area where Rohit led him, and tells Sanjana that she must go there alone to receive the message. He says that he'd be lying if he said he wasn't afraid to go out there himself. Priya objects to this plan, but Sanjana tells her that it's all right, she wants to go through with this. She steps out of the car and begins walking through the trees. Well not through the trees, but between them.
We
see Agni and Priya nervously waiting in the car, watching as Sanjana begins to
be obscured by the mists of the forest. She's quite a good distance from the car
when she finally stops, and begins speaking to the air. She asks what the spirit
wants, and says that she came out here just like the spirit wanted. She orders
the spirit to speak. As she does this, a wind picks up that blows the grass
around her feet. A much thicker fog rolls in around her, almost completely
obscuring her from view from the car.
Another of the now familiar hair tousling winds blows up Sanjana's hair, followed by the scream from the woods. Sanjana gets very agitated at this, as do Agni and Priya. Suddenly all of the doors of the car lock themselves, and the passengers are unable to open them.
Sanjana
does the smart thing, and begins running off through the woods in a random
direction. Lots of dangerous things start happening to the car as she's hurtling
through the trees. A log is thrown through the driver and passenger windows, and
the headlights are smashed out by an unseen force. Sanjana runs and runs as fast
as she can, until she suddenly is lifted airborne! She flies through the air for
a few yards before crashing back to the ground, landing right in front of a
rusted handgun that someone has left behind.
Sanjana picks up the gun, and everything gets calm. Priya and Agni are apparently able to get out of the car now, since they come running up to find her still lying on the ground looking at the pistol. They decide it might be a good idea to see who the gun belongs to, so they go to the Ooty gun shop for the registration.
