Aditya
goes into the bedroom with the glass doors and pounds dramatically on the frame.
This advances time by a few hours, since it's now dark outside. Aditya is seen
heading towards the front door when he notices Malini is busy in the den. She's
passing the time by tearing up and burning any pictures she finds of Sanjana. He
bursts into the room and demands to know what she's doing. Malini yells that
she's driving Sanjana out of his life, and ridding every trace of her she can
find. Aditya tries to stop her, and things get a little physical. They finally
pause after he slaps her in the face. He is shocked at himself, and moves away
from Malini to try to calm himself. He asks her not to compel him to do things
like that, and then asks her to leave the house decently, as he was decent
enough to let her stay.
Malini sees the inherent flaw in his logic, and tells him that she's not the kind of girl that would let him take her to bed and then just disappear. She tells him that she can't just be erased from his history, and she'll drive Sanjana out of his life. Aditya sees that this isn't going to end amicably, so he forcefully takes Malini and throws her out of the front door. He slams it shut behind her and locks it up as she pounds on it and curses him outside. After a few choice words, we hear her tear out of the driveway in her Jeep. Aditya looks down the hallway, and sees Robert in the greenhouse room trying to look like he didn't see anything.
We
cut to Sanjana's house where the ringing of the phone wakes her up. She answers
it and says "hello" a few times, but Aditya can't bring himself to speak to her.
He hangs up the phone and sobs a little. We cut to Aditya driving to work. He
brings the car to a stop in the middle of the road when he sees Malini standing
there, blocking his path. He steps out of the car and politely but tersely asks
her to move out of the way. She makes a tearful appeal to his softer side and
apologizes for what she did yesterday, and says that she can't help how she
feels when she imagines him with Sanjana. Aditya isn't playing along, and
carries her off to the side of the road before getting back into his car.
Malini leans into the side window and continues begging for him to be with her. She tries to stop him from driving off, but he pushes her and she loses her balance. She topples off of the road and rolls down the hill for a good distance. Aditya stops the car and gets out to see if she is all right. Malini gets up from her tumble and reverts back to her angry psychotic mode. She begins throwing rocks at Aditya and telling him that he can't just leave her like this, and that she'll drive Sanjana out of his heart. Upon seeing that she's well enough to hurl stones and invective at him, he quickly gets back into the car and begins pulling away.
We
cut to the office where Aditya is zoned out in a meeting. The other members of
the board are all discussing some very expensive projects, and ask Aditya what
he thinks about them. He doesn't answer until he is prompted again to reply, and
he hasn't heard the question. He tells them to do whatever they feel is best,
since they're all experts at what they do. That night Aditya is greeted by an
unwelcome sight as he returns home. He sees a trail of blood leading up to the
open front door of the house. Hurrying up the steps, he finds Robert leaning
against the wall and cradling his bleeding head.
Aditya asks Robert what happened, but all Robert can do is point off to another room. Aditya goes into the bedroom and finds Malini there, wearing the same dress she had on the night they first met. She tries to get him to tie a mangalsutra around her neck and to refute his marriage to Sanjana. Aditya doesn't play along, so Malini breaks out the handgun.
She
points it to her head and explains that they have very little time to get all
this under control. The police have found her Jeep, and she is sure that her
father is on his way to get her. She tells him that she doesn't want to go back
to the institution. Aditya tells her to put the gun down, but she repeats her
request for him to call his wife and say he can't live without Malini.
Aditya and Malini go back and forth a few times about how he's never going to tell Sanjana about them, and how Malini really thinks he should. Aditya points out that Sanjana loves him so much, she wouldn't believe anyone that told her Aditya had been unfaithful. Malini says that finding her corpse in the house would go a long way to proving it true.
Aditya tells her not to do anything rash, but Malini is a little beyond that point by now. She says that she will convince Sanjana of the truth, whether she is alive or dead. With that she pulls the trigger, and screams the now familiar scream we've been hearing in the woods. The blood from the shot splashes up onto the chandelier that was raining gore down upon Sanjana previously, and we snap out of the flashback to see Sanjana's tear-stained face.
